What have you been listening from this year? What was especially good? Forgettable albums? Post what you want from this year.
I have only heard Kurt Vile and QOTSA's single. Kurt's album is out and QOTSA's album is coming out the fourth of June.
Last month had a lot of rock and groove. The groovy songs being Daft Punk's new single Get Lucky from their forthcoming album Random Access Memories and !!!'s song One Girl/One Boy from THR!!!ER which is already out.
I haven't listened of Queens of the stone age or Holograms, until I heard their new singles. Very promising. Sigur Rós also released a track 3 days ago. It sounds very different from Brennisteinn. Brennisteinn is hard hitting and much darker from Sigur Rós's albums such as Takk. Ãsjaki feels like a step back to their usual music.
May Favorite tracks: Never Run Away, I Appear Missing
April Favorite tracks: Flesh & Bone, and Ãsjaki.
March Favorite tracks: R.E.M., and IFHY.
February
January
I have backtracked this year and prioritised the old classics and missed February as well as January completely.
Released albums
Coheed & Cambria - The Afterman: Descension
My Bloody Valentines - M B V
Justin Timberlake - The 20/20 Experience
Depeche Mode - Delta Machine
The Strokes - Comedown Machine
The Flaming Lips - The Terror
Tyler, The Creator - Wolf
James Blake - Overgrown
The Knife - Shaking the Habitual
Anamanaguchi - Endless Fantasy
VA - Yellow Loveless
I picked the albums that seemed the most popular.
Upcoming albums
Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
The National - Trouble Will Find Me
Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
Black Sabbath - 13
The Wu-tang Clan - A Better Tomorrow
Sigur Rós - Kveikur
There is also rumors that Kanye West and Madvillain will both release an album. (Not together)

Renard is releasing a lot of things under different aliases as usual. TQBF, which is one of his aliases, is releasing "Go Lucky" sometime this year, looking forward to that.
I am just about to listen to RAM by Daft Punk too, expecting it to be good.
EDIT: Actually, this year I've listened to "The Queenstons - Identity Will Not Save You", it was a good album and I pretty much straight up loved it. I am guessing that you are only refering to albums released this year and so far that it's, apart from Savant's small EP titled "Heart", which was also a good "album".

All I've been listening to is weeb music apart from the list you sent me.Update on friday.
Try the music in this list.
From Jan to May
Anamanaguchi does 8bit rock. Moot is a furry. Ending proves it.
James Blake does electronic music combined with mostly piano.
Dope Body, punk.
Big Krit and Tyler, The Creator does hip hop music.
Vampire Weekends does baroque pop along with alternative rock.
Sigur Rós are a Icelandic rock band. A very good one too.
Holograms are a Swedish indie rock band. Their stuff sounds punky.
QOTSA, you have probably heard about them. They make good rock songs.
!!! and Daft Punk's singles are both very groovy. Sounds like something from the 80's.
Kurt Vile sounds straight from the 70's. God that music video is boring.
And check out these albums: Coheed & Cambria - The Afterman: Descension (Progressive rock)
Spoiler:
Various Artists - Yellow Loveless (Post rock, shoegaze)

One that isn't popular but is from this year is Ghost's (Ghost B.C. in America) Infestissumam. This album is a great sophomore album from the band, much better than their debut.
Year Zero
Infestissumam
Ghuleh/Zombie Queen
I'm a Marionette (ABBA cover)

I've been listening to Daft Punk, Gorillaz, Linkin Park and electronica mixes, same ol' every year.

This thread is about music released this year. Not what you are listening to every year.
Have you tried listening to other bands. The names you mentioned are standard.

I wasn't talking about their actual songs, I was referring to mixes, remixes of their songs etc.
I'm pretty heavy into electronica, listing all of the new tracks I've listened to and liked or hated just in the past few months would take me hours. Though, if you're looking for the obscure here are a few artists and recently released tracks I find pleasing:

Sigur Rós's Kveikur and Kanye West's Yeezus is out!
It's a solid Sigur Rós album. Give it a listen.
Yeezus 7/10
The lyrics are rushed and often idiotic. But the beats are very creative. I don't really like his voice, he sounds very dull and the autotune is very bugging.
I will praise him for the track New Slaves. As said before the lyrics are rushed but the idea is great.

Let's see... this year hasn't been a lot that piqued my interest until now.
Emancipator - From Dusk to Dawn, has been a nice way to start the new year,
it's very much to my liking.
Amaranthe - The Nexus, i found out this band around february of this year quickly liking it. And just one month after that, new album is out.
And i was not stopping smiling while listening to it, so much good it was to me.
Avantasia - The Mystery of Time, came few day after, and it was splendid.

Metal has to be very specific for me to like it, and I love this. And the other songs on the bandcamp were great; I'm downloading their album.
OT: I've been listening to a lot of A_Rival and Benjamin Briggs recently.
Spoiler:
Edit - And a lot of Daft Punk's Random Access Memory album

Much of the music I listen to is pretty old, usually by a few years. Stuff like Hidetake Takayama and Tokimonsta. However for an artist I listen to constantly that still pumps out music I would go with Joseph Jacobs.
Found his music through a speed-art video from rtil, oddly enough.

If you love that, then I'd also recommend listening to Cloudkicker. Similar musically, he has more music put out and also releases through Bandcamp and SoundCloud.
Here's a couple of my favorites from him.
Spoiler:
To kind of stay on topic, Cloudkicker released this song, "Hello," back in January.

Oooohh, Amaranthe is awesome, I totally forgot they put a new album out.
Mystery of Time is excellent, as well. I just got around to buying it last week.
OT: Other than that, there hasn't been too much metal released this year that I've been super excited for. There's alot coming up though new Amon Amarth, Sirenia, Dream Theater, James Labrie, and probly some other stuff I can't think of right now. I've been listening to a lot of older stuff recently, been really into Nevermore the last month or so.
I'm also really enjoying the new Daft Punk Album and among various other electronic tracks that have been released this year.
