My hopes and expectations have been unreasonably high for this movie since I heard about it a month ago. Once I see some screens I'll probably rather quickly decide if it'll be amazing or shit and then see it regardless.
On an mildly related note, I can do a spot on imitation of the Mad Hatter's voice. I wish I could do the March Hare but I can't do it for shit.

Ohh, this will be interesting. I haven't watched the cartoon since I was a kid and I remember thinking it was really messed up and confusing LoL

Pictures of Depp as the Hatter are out (and easy to find)
Honestly, I don't like the way he looks. Too dark. With Charle and the Chocolate Factory, it was understandable because the book was a bit dark, but Alice in Wonderland isn't like that. Yeah, there are some crazy things, but nothing (by itself, without any influence from movies or people) is really dark. It just seems like Burton is trying to make the movie darker so merchandise of it will sell better at Hot Topic.

It wouldn't be the first time "Wonderland" was darker though.
I don't mind it as long as the rest of it fits together.

I'm not convinced, mostly because Hollywood more or less ditched the American McGee's Alice movie the second Tim Burton said he would do one. I had been looking forward to that movie for almost a year. ._.
Burton has been able to make some awesome movies but I really doubt that he'll be able to pull this one of.

Yeah I really want to see a really dark version of Alice in Wonderland like American Mcgee's. Not something over the top, but something just like the game.
