Are you attracted to intelligence?

There are several kinds of intelligences: From intellectual to emotional.

And, yes, I find it hard to talk to someone of either sex for an extended period of time when they're - pardon my language - kinda dumb.

I'm not so much attracted to intelligence as I am repulsed by idiocy.

It's not a winner when I have to wait for the other person to catch up either.

I admit I'm more often attracted to intelligent guys. I like being taught...and I like learning new things and being introduced to new movies, genres, music, facts, etc.
I also like humor and wit...so both of those are nice as well.

other than my obliviousness at romance, i do consider myself rather intelligent.
it's nice to have someone to seriously discuss, discover, and learn things with, in many fashions.

of course, i find it more challenging that way.

I prefer females that have an intelligence 'on par' with mine.
When a person is too intelligent, conversations tend to be one sided. Same applies when the person isn't intelligent enough.

Yes, I do find intelligence attractive. I love to have a vast topics to talk about. Even though I suck at bring up interesting topics haha... Always good to learn something new, especially if you like a the person your talking with.

It's a must have for any person that I spend time with. So, yes, of course I am attracted to it in a sense of long term relationship.

But when it's just a one-night-stand you meet in the club or on the beach, I like stupid girls a hundred times more :)

Hell yes! I really hate guys who are meat heads. I especially love them when they're very serious.

i have yet to meet a girl who is smarter than me. When I do, I will most likely propose on the spot. I carry a wedding ring around with me at all times in preparation for this situation.

Yes. I even like it when the girl is more intelligent than me.

I say that I am, but not when they end up developing a rude attitude due to the ego some get from being so smart.

Like someone said before, it depends on how you define intelligence. If the answer is the high IQ and the ability to solve mathematical problems with little effort, it doesn't really matter to me.

I voted no, just because intelligence is so unclear term. Of the personality traits that might be related to intelligence I am attracted to people who are interested in at least some cultural, scientific or social matters. It doesn't matter if they are not experts, I'm not either. A person who seemingly appreciates kowledge and is willing to share his or her views and opinions without too much arrogance is always a turnon. I don't think that's necessarily intelligence, just a selected field of interest and a certain curious perspective to them.

I am extremely attracted to intelligence. There is something to be said about people who can teach me new things, enlighten me in ways I never thought about before. I am really receptive to learning, especially from passionate, intelligent people.

A dumb bimbo is really unattractive. I at least want someone I can have a somewhat intelligent conversation with.

I dated this guy for over a year that was completely dumb. I have no idea how I dated him for so long, because he irritates the hell out of me now. He is almost 19 but he acts like a 14 year old now, and that fact along with his stupidity is enough to make me wonder how I put up with him for so long. My current boyfriend is very intelligent as well as creative, and it makes an incredible difference. I was instantly attracted to him because of it. A person with the right amount of sillyness, intelligence, and kindness sounds wonderful to me. (: I will never date an idiot again - at least not a complete idiot. Everyone does stupid things sometimes. :P

Most of the really intelligent girls I've met and have been attracted had been pretty stuck up and full of themselves.
I would prefer someone I can be level terms with as far as subject matter.
They don't have to really be smart, but be willing to learn if you can't add to the subject.
