I have a piece of rump steak, weighing in at 0.265kg or 0.6lbs, and I want to marinate it in red wine before I cook it. How much red wine should I use and what other things should I add in, and in what quantities? How long should I leave it to marinate and what should I put it in?
Finally, in terms of cooking it, I have a fan-assisted oven and a regular oven grill (not like a George Foreman or anything) so how long should I cook it to get medium rare?
Thanks in advance! I did Google it first but I could quite find the info I wanted and then I thought, "Isn't there a cooking forum at Fakku?"
This is kind of urgent because its sell-by-date was actually the 15th...
Edit
It's just been brought to my attention that "grilling" can mean different things in different cultures. I'm in the UK so I think any Americans will have a different idea of what I mean when I refer to the "grill" in my oven: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grilling#In_the_UK

You do understand what Sashimi essentially is right? All you need to do is get the right kind of fish (eel, grouper, white, etc.) You cut the piece of raw fish up into a good size, then serve with rice, wasabi, and soy sauce. Not much really goes into basic sashimi.
Step-by-step:
- Get some skinned fish, or just skin it yourself.
- Clean the fish throughly.
- Slice off and discard any dark portions. In some seafood, such as abalone. Sometimes you can keep it, but then again, I wouldn't if I were you.
- Slice it up, but clean, downward slices, not sawing motions.
- Serve and you're done.

We like to mix it up between as many different varieties as we can. I also like Gordon Ramsay shows.

I stick to Kitchen Disaster's and Hell's Kitchen from Ramsey, the former's pretty interesting for a non-chef like me ... we get to see the workings inside the kitchen, and the whole management aspect as well. He's blunt, and smart.
Do you know an easy to make recipe for Miso Soup? Easily available veggies inclusive. Meat, optional.
