I disagree that Rafael Van Der Vaart is the "Greatest bargain of all time", Yes its reasonably cheap considering but he isnt that good of a player and besides where has he gone to?? Spurs - The destroyer of quality players!
When he leaves Spurs after achieving diddly squat he'll be like a broken reed just like so many others.
At least hes played a few good years, Made his money and had a decent career as a pro unlike Jonathan Blondel and Reto Ziegler. (So much promise... Poor boys) :(
Anyway congratulations Harry, Good signing! :)

He's not world class but he is a great player, so £8m remains a steal - I mean, that's still a third of what City paid for James Milner, and could you honestly say he's better?
It remains to be seen how well he adapts. This is a predominantly attack-focused league, which should really suit him. It may take a few games to adapt but I'd back him to get at least ten goals this season.

On a side note I was quite surprised to see that Hatem Ben Arfas moved to Newcastle on loan... That went under my radar! :P (What a QUALITY pickup)

Yeah I played a wildcard after the first week, clearly a good move though. :p
I know, I couldn't quite believe it when that deal went through. Cracking introduction at the weekend as well. He could be the difference for them among those bottom half sides.

An unexpectedly momentous day in the footballing world: Boston Red Sox owners NESV finally take control of Liverpool, and the USA pulls out of the running for the 2018 World Cup. Even as a United fan I'm glad that the Liverpool saga is done with, as it doesn't do them justice to languish at the foot of the table (especially while Man City are surging up, grr). As for the US, well, it just gives us a better chance. :P

QATAR? Are they fucking serious? What a complete joke. Is sad that my city is bigger than that country.
So, I guess I better start saving for Brazil because there's no freaking way I'm traveling there. Russia is probably expensive too.
LOL

FIFA totally sold out. Qatar will make them tons of money. It's really not that surprising if you think about it.
What's pathetic is that son of a bitch Sepp Blatter who's trying to make it sound like all he wants is for the game to be global. It couldn't be more obvious that there's collusion involved.
Even the world cup has to be tainted by a monetary amount. I know I shouldn't be surprised, but man this is upsetting. I'm biased towards the US, but I can honestly say I loved Australia's bid. Qatar? 130 degree weather? Sexual discrimination of women being the norm? Yeah. Looking forward to this. At least it's in 12 years from now. Brazil I'd imagine is going to be a magnificent host.

The Qatar bid is fucking ridiculous. Horribly oppressive country, 42 degrees celsius in the summer, still has to build most of the stadiums, and it's illegal to drink in public. Great move. Australia would have been great for the visit but I don't think the facilities would have been up to it, and it isn't that big a sport there. I wanted the USA to win. As for my native England...Russia deserved it more, and the reaction was hilarious. :')
As for Monday's game, I'm a United fan, but I can see us losing 2-1. I said Arsenal would win the league at the start of the season and I'm sticking with that. In many ways we need to do badly to force some transfers.

I can't see them suddenly making a comeback. They're looking better, but need a few games with Lampard and Essien in the same side, and Ancelotti could easily be fired before then. If that happens, they're out of the race. They've looked consistently awful in defence since pre-season, though, and with an ageing squad the frailties were always there. Third place finish and a whole lotta money invested in Summer '11.

And yes, as always, major investing in the summer.
When do you think Drogba will go?
In other news:
Afelley to Barcelona? I didn't see that one coming. Do you guys think he might have an impact?
EDIT:
So the Arsenal v Stoke game was canceled due to bad weather.
And apparently Guillermo Ochoa (Goalkeeper), who was thought to be in Fulham, was never there according to Mark Hughs.
I guess he's never leaving America.
