I know simple mistakes can happen so I try to sympathize, but sometimes too much is too much. Especially when it comes to someone who is supposed to be educated in the field of Engrish.
Such as an English tutor correcting me on using "than" to "then", but in fact the correct usage was "than". Suffice to say, I lost all faith in the tutor...

Why would something as insignificant as that bother someone...???
That is unless the person in question really doesn't know the difference between Their, There and they're...
Then its just sad...

They make simple mistakes like "your" and you're" on a regular basis, as if they don't know the difference?I've been speaking with someone for a bit now and that person has been using your for everything, as if they didn't know there was a difference. I feel slightly saddened that someone who graduated from the same education system as myself doesn't know the difference. How about when someone types "u" instead of you, or when they think "a lot" is one word? How about you Fakku, does the way someone writes affect your opinion of them?
yes, I regard them as human trash with no value to their opinions whatsoever.
also, using 4chan/sa memes, having a shitty nickname or avatar, or censoring expl*t*ves lead me to the same conclusion.

I actually have trouble with the 'your' and 'you're' thing myself, I should really actually learn grammar a bit better if I intend to become a writer.
Bad grammar and spelling off a person can annoy me but only if it's extremely horrendous, and if some idiot starts speaking 2 me lyk this thn the convo is prty mch ovr.

I hate it, and it bothers me, and it grinds my gears. Specially when it happens in spanish, which is my mother-tongue.

I guess it's just perception. If it's just about being lazy then perhaps everyone should try and learn how to use the language better than we/they do for the sake of not sounding like mentally handicapped people.
Rbz was right; I was trying to point out poor use of the language, that would sound ridiculous coming from someone who used it poorly himself.

If you don't respect your very own opinion enough to put it into proper, or properly spelt words, I shan't consider it worth looking at either.

Yet still some people take everything everyone says about anything no matter how ridiculous or unrelated super seriously, are those people worth looking at too...?
Because its exactly those types of, "wannabe Perfectionists" that I try to avoid since, well, lets face it are just plain annoying...
OMG DUN TLK LIEK DAT IT SO BAD GRAMMUR!

If you correct them and they still do it then yeah it makes me think slightly less of them. I still have trouble with "their and there" I can't seem to understand why though I look it up but to no prevail.

your on the internet. do you really expect anything less? the only time i put all my effort into writing properly is when its a paper for school or fanfiction, besides. in normal instant-messaging convos you should be paying more attention to what there saying. not there grammar

It really depends on the situation for me. Personally I try to stay away from writing with improper grammar(that I myself notice) on forums and the like but if its just a message to a friend or something like that I tend to just write how I normally speak. And my normal speech isn't very proper it seems, I tend to use "ain't" and a lot of slang words like leaving off the g at the end of words like doing going ect. when I'm just normally talking with people I know. Anyway the jist of it is that on forums and things like that I try to use proper grammar and proper English, with friends and shit not so much.
At least in a somewhat serious discussion.

I don't really think less of something, but it does irk me somewhat.
Mostly because it sometimes makes me re-read it because I got mixed up reading it the first time. But in all honesty, it's a really stupid fucking habit that people should fix. It dumbs down the English even more so than usual.

Simple your and you're errors are not something I judge people on. Everybody makes minor errors, I'm sure that I frequently use the wrong version. Not because I don't understand the difference but, I simply don't register that I typed the wrong one. The speed at which my thoughts are fired at me exceeds what my fingers can type which leads to frequent typos or placement errors (like a period inside quotations).
I ignore anything that resembles "U ain't got no legs, Lt. Dan".
