Do you think less of someone when...

Simple your and you're errors are not something I judge people on. Everybody makes minor errors, I'm sure that I frequently use the wrong version. Not because I don't understand the difference but, I simply don't register that I typed the wrong one. The speed at which my thoughts are fired at me exceeds what my fingers can type which leads to frequent typos or placement errors (like a period inside quotations).I ignore anything that resembles "U ain't got no legs, Lt. Dan".
As horrible as that quote was, ain't does bother me. I admit that if someone uses ain't I usually flat out ignore anything they have to say.

Well if I noticed someone doing it more than once I would probably correct them and if they didn't get it I would explain the difference as bad grammar annoys me enough for me to comment on it. If they continued to do so...well then they're just ignoring my advice and going out of their way to talk like an idiot...they pretty much have earned my disrespect at that point.

They make simple mistakes like "your" and you're" on a regular basis, as if they don't know the difference?I've been speaking with someone for a bit now and that person has been using your for everything, as if they didn't know there was a difference. I feel slightly saddened that someone who graduated from the same education system as myself doesn't know the difference. How about when someone types "u" instead of you, or when they think "a lot" is one word? How about you Fakku, does the way someone writes affect your opinion of them?
I am a grammar nazi, so it bugs the living hell out of me when people consistently mess that up. My boyfriend does it when he types too, but he supposedly does it because he is "lazy", not stupid. It's a good thing I hardly ever see him type, or I'd go crazy. I get that some people suck at spelling and grammar but yeah, generally I can't help but look down on those people a little.
"Alot" doesn't bother me as much as everything else you listed, but I had a professor that was so irked by it that she'd take points off if anyone wrote it as one word on anything handed in to her.

I don't know where you're going with this... I mean just because someone has bad grammar your just going to label them an idiot and be done with it? Some people don't have time to deal with grammar on the internet and I don't see anything wrong with that.People "don't have time to deal with grammar on the internet"? Really? Don't have time? Well I'll be damned.

On the internet? To be truthful, YES. On the net, that's the only way to judge someone, via words typed (unless they're on camera or mic). Sad but true.
But in person if I know someone who can speak quite well, but is a little shabby in writing and grammar usage, I can forgive.

I have excepted the fact that their our many out they're that can't not type correctly on the net. There all to lazy two bother, and I've learned too ignore them.

Absolutely not. It is absurd to think someone's intelligence level is based on their grammar or typing skills. I don't think any less of them then perhaps that they are a bit rude in not taking the time to properly type out their thoughts. As long as I can understand the meaning of their post without having difficultly deciphering their writing, I'm not self-righteous enought to think someone is inferior because their typing is not up to my standards.

I judge people like that silently, unless they hand me an essay to peer-edit and then I fucking crucify them!!!!

I just wish they'd take more time to make sure they were spelling things correctly, etc.

Not considerably.
As long as it's understandable it's tolerable to me.
I'm not one to judge by simple errors.

If I can still understand what they are saying, then the way they write their sentences doesn't faze me.

It kind of bugs me sometimes..
I remember getting a E-Mail from a mother to buy some Avon from me and her entire message WAS IN CAPS SO IT WAS DISTRACTING & I FELT LIK SHE WAS YELLING @ ME
Then when people shorted words to like.. BBL (I just learned about a month ago it meant Be Back Later) and IPYL (I'll Pay You Later) sometimes confuses me. When growing up unable to speak and knew little about how to write, they kind of jab it into you to spell all the words correctly or else you won't get TV or Candy. So, even though I don't want to be angry at the shorter phrases or the CAPS BUTTON ALWAYS ON, I can't seem to help it...
So.... yes..? ; . ;

No, not really. Some of my friends have bad grammar, so when people make a mistake like that, I don't think less of them. I just wouldn't get them to be my spellchecker is all.

A person's grammar skills shouldn't be used as a judge of their character. Although I do agree with you that seeing someone constantly make the same error can be irritating or even saddening, I wouldn't judge someone based upon that.

Remember me?
Only with 2 words.
When instead of 'Turret', they say 'Turrent'. Where the fuck did the 'n' come from? Fuck.
And instead of 'Respawn', they say 'Respond'. Da fuck?
~sigh~ ....idiots.
I know this is total Halo 3 talk.
If you gotta problem with that....

At first, I don't care but it does get really annoying after a while... But hey, what can you do, it's that person's way to write, just hope that that person doesn't write the same way he does online in real life!

Also, I think people dont tend to generally uphold the same standard of writing on the internet as they do IRL. When writing on the internet, especially on comment boards and forums, spelling and proper grammar doesnt seem like such a big deal to some people. For example, I try to maintain the writing style that I keep IRL while online. But if Im not entirely sure if a sentence I wrote on the forums is correct, Im not going to go out of my way to look up whether or not I used proper grammar.
However, continuous ignorance while typing still remains annoying.
