What genre of metal do you like the most?

Inspired by the recent "favorite type of music"-poll, i wanted to ask the metal-listeners here what their favorite metal genre is.
Also, if there are "newer" (1995-now) songs/bands you like, post them via embedded youtube-movie. Please post only one embedded youtube-movie per post.
I like folk metal the most, mainly because instruments/language/topics.
This is a folk metal band from Switzerland. The name "Eluveitie" mean "I am a Helvetian" in Gallic (Helvetians were a Gallic tribe in nowadays Switzerland). The often sing in Gallic (although a dead language), and use bagpipe/hurdy-gurdy/vielle in addition to the metal instruments.

All of this. Mostly leaning towards progressive but I love Technical, Melodic (both not listed) and Death.

I like a bunch of stuff. Picking out a subgenre is too difficult, but I suppose I would reluctantly have to go with Thrash.

My music folder is 33GB cause I love music and it's hard for me to choose a favorite metal genre but I had to go with Gothic Metal with Progressive Metal a close second!
A good Gothic Metal band is Flowing Tears!! =3

Kinda outgrew metal now, but when I was younger, I listened to Black Sabbath, Slayer, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, Dragonforce and Dimmu Borgir.

Beats me. Just got tired of it, I guess. Mellowed out a lot.

Usually means it was 'just a phase'. I know I've went through some of them. But I always come back to the old hammer to the anvil music.

thrash metal for me. five finger death punch, shadows fallBoth great bands, but I'm pretty sure Five Finger Death Punch is not thrash metal. They're groove/alternative metal at best. Shadows Fall on the other hand...
My favorite metal sub-genre is power metal (Sonata Arctica, Kamelot, Helloween, Dragonforce, Celesty, Blind Guardian, Edguy, Galneruys, Sabaton, Van Canto, you get the idea), followed closely by melodic death metal (Soilwork, Nightrage, Disarmonia Mundi, Dark Tranquillity, The Duskfall, Insomnium, etc).
I also enjoy thrash metal, alternative metal, groove metal...anything as long as it's not un-melodic black/death. I do like some technical death metal as well.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
My favorite is actually a sub-genre of Death Metal (Melodic Death Metal. There is a decent amount of difference actually.) So I just voted Death Metal.
Always down for some Nile anyway.
Or maybe some Miseration.
Honestly, anything with Christian Alvestam is automatically awesome by default, cause that man can sing like a motherfucker. Amazing clean vocal range, and an equally wide growling range. Go check out some Scar Symmetry (First three albums only) Or Solution .45

Although I don't really listen to metal that much nowadays.

I as well voted for Death metal because of its sub genre of Melodic Death Metal (Melodeath). The band I would need to praise is Definatly! Between the Buried and Me. If you listen to the album 'Colors' you will understand.
