Spoiler:
Equilibrium is not exclusively Speed Metal. It's a mix of Folk, Death, Melodic, Speed. They describe themselves as "a mix of Everything" or "genre-independent".
P.S.: I just noticed no one voted for Black Metal? So no Norwegians here.

Agreed. Also, not all black metal is Norwegian. In fact most of it now seems to be pouring out of East Europe (Poland, Ukraine etc.)

Reminds me of Temnozor. They are from Russia and they make Folk/NSBM, lol.

So, I'm the only grindcore fan here?? Actually, though I do enjoy a variety of grindcore, whenever I go to turn some on, by default I start with Napalm Death, and usually never find a reason to switch. So, you could say I'm pretty much stuck on ND. From what I hear, they're actually a mix of styles, mostly death metal/grindcore.

Personally I can only take grindcore in small doses before it becomes overbearing.

kinda funny. I guess this falls into the genre 'Pornogrind'.
I prefer my grindcore with a serious social message, though.

Well I voted for Progressive because a good majority of what I listen to can at least be "rooted" for lack of a better word - in the Progressive sub-genre whether metal or rock.
Green Carnation is my favorite progressive metal band, but ironically they've got from death to progressive and everything inbetween so it is naturally hard to define them.

Power metal. Pretty much any power metal is good to me. Only band outside of it I like is Metallica.

Hm. NSBM is an insult to music, and a stain on metal's history.
And black metal fans around the world are few, VERY few. Just because they are very kvlt, trve and dedicated (there are more black metal bands than any other metal genre), doesn't mean a lot of people like it. The only place where black metal fans are a majority is at metal-archives.com, lol.
And a lot of people voted for thrash metal. People should post bands just to see if they got the genre right...lol.

I like every type of metal if it's done right. Folk/Melodic are the types I probably listen to the most nowadays.

Nice epic necro.
OT: Prog metal is probly my favorite, but not by much. I also love Melodeath, power, symphonic, folk, and any combination of said genres.

I love to diversify my music too much to have a favorite genre; really depends on what I feel like listening to.

Call me old fashioned, but I much prefer the Big 4. Thrash Metal and Hair Metal are my things, and I won't be afraid to tell anyone I will spazz the hell out to some Twisted Sister. But yeah, most subgenres of metal are okay. Just....okay.

Me and Power Metal have a long history, along with Speed Metal, too. Bands like Manowar, Rhapsody(Of Fire), and the like have a special place in my heart, but I also have a good place for the Hair Metal and Thrash Metal bands. However, my phase of obsessing over metal music has settled down in the last year or so. I still listen to metal, but not as much. I just mainly listen to the bands I love.
