What's wrong with Dunga? Brazil won their qualifiers and were playing some great games by the end.

Brazil are a decent side for sure, but their midfield is ageing and largely off-form, and strikers are meh...to be honest I'm loving the fact that all of the powerhouses have these problems, with so much talent at the same time. Makes it brilliantly unpredictable.

Theres nothing 'wrong' with him its just I dont think Dungas "Brazillian" enough for them to win a World Cup! (Too conservative)

Luis Aragones > Del Bosque
Spain needs Senna, an amazing defensive midfielder (an one of the best players during the Eurocup) but he wont play on the WC because of his injuries during this season.

Tanasinn
The Bellpepper
I don't honestly have a favorite pick for this year.
I was lucky to even catch a few games in the last cup. Though this year I'll be able to see more of the action.
But yea, there's a few teams I can see not making it.

Would love to see Dempsey and Donovan carry the US to semifinals. That's the farthest I could plausibly see them going, and that would take quite a few upsets really.
Also, this was hilarious. http://theunlikelyfan.blogspot.com/2010/05/disclaimer-im-new-to-this-site-and-im.html
made my day.
Relates teams to american sports, like USA is the Houston Texans, South Korea = Phoenix Suns.

Marcos Senna? Well he's okay I guess. More defensive than Xabi Alonso, but I still prefer Alonso to take the place. But then again, the team don't need 3 playmakers (Iniesta, Xavi, Xabi) unless they can perform some awesome combination

Apparently 2010 FIFA World Cup has also put it's bet on Spain winning.

Spain have always been a bunch of lazy flakes, Traditionally, But After France 98 what did the France team achieve? NOTHING!
Spain arnt invincible by any stretch of the imagination but they have got one or two classy players >__> and maybe theyve gained a winning mentality now that theyve actually won something.
This World Cups gonna be an interesting one thats for sure! :P

Duh. The best teams always win when the AI controls them.

Living in the US, I'd obviously like to see them win, but I really don't see it happening. They do seem to be improving though; this cup is the 6th consecutive time the US has competed, and we are ranked 1st in CONCACAF, although it's not exactly the most competitive region, I guess. But after watching the US performance at the Confederations Cup, I just don't think they have the endurance to make it against the more prominent world teams. But at least the USA seems to be growing in support of the sport in general, and maybe we'll win a world cup in my lifetime.
I'll probably end up supporting England or Italy. Probably Italy; I usually go to an Italian cafe to watch football games because it's the only place I know of that I can around here.

Anyone from the US like to speculate as to your chances against England, and how far the team might go? I think you'll come 2nd in the group, definitely; it's not a team full of big natural talent, but you still have guys like Dempsey, Donovan and Altidore, a lot of physicality and a great work ethic which England lack. Like Azuran and I already mentioned you also convincingly defeated a very complacent Spanish side who are undoubtably a lot better than England, and we've had injury problems and (imo) an average qualifying campaign ourselves. I think the result of that opening game really depends on the first goal, because if the USA score it they will surely just park the bus, and we're only ever creative while we're on the front foot.
(also, found a cool predicty-thing on the BBC site, some really interesting fixtures there by my reckoning. I'll bump and rename my old football thread the day before things kick off for general discussion, too. :))

I guess spain will win the cup or portual unless if some football player of brazil makes an heavy fault on Cristiano Ronaldo they say he is one of the best players in the world to make brazil lose and open the way to others teams. well we only know in the field now let's await cup start 2 days remaining (bad english? say man i forgot sometimes srry). Akaoni, Brazil under Dunga = >__< you right he not called Neymar and Ganso to the cup if he cal these 2 guys we will win portugal.
