Pecan pie
Mom got sick of me asking so sat me down First had me crack shell and clean pecans then taught me how to make pie crust, then how to make the filling
THEN told me I had to share it with my brother
This is a commentary on kabalan20's post as it says I am double posting
You probably aren't old enough to remember Dagwood Bumstead but two slices of bread with everything you could lay your hands on is called a Dagwood

Eh, none of you would know what it is unless you lived here but a pasty was the first thing I ever made.
Though before that, I knew how bake quite a bit.

Looking back as far as I can, the first *recipe based* food I can remember learning how to cook the first time actually was rice crispie squares. I was so young I actually needed to stand atop a stool in front of the oven because I was not tall enough to comfortable stir the melted marshmallow portion over the stove (I was very young, and very enthusiastic about wanting to make things).
