It feels so odd going to the movie theatres alone so I don't get out much.
Just about sums up my life.

Americans trying to do a Kaiju movie? That never bodes well. If anyone needs an example of them royally screwing up a Kaiju movie then go back to the 90s Godzilla movie. Not even going to attempt to watch Pacific Rim.>Guillermo Del Toro

It was good and i was hoping that we have a mobile suit gundam movie live action. There was...but most people denied its existence, for good reason. *cough*G-Saviour*cough*
@topic/movie: I took advantage of the cheaper A.M. matinée price and watched this movie. (didn't bother with 3d, since my brother gets queasy after a while, and I'd rather not pay 20 or so bucks per person) I agree with many others that it was a good movie, that it was a good straightforward summer action flick with 'giant mechs fighting giant monsters'. Dialogue and characters were meh.
The plot paralleled closely with Independence Day, especially with the oft pointed out speech.
(paraphrased)
"...and today, we celebrate our Independence Day!"
"...and today we are canceling the apocalypse."
I facepalmed and chuckled at the same time at that.
@Eva: And no, it's not like Eva at all...only real similarity is mechs vs monsters.

I like the concept but I keep getting the feeling if I go to see it at the movies I'll regret buying the ticket. I'll just wait until it comes to dvd or I'll end up downloading it.

Pacific rim was really good, could have been better, but could have been worse. I, of course, loved it.

I've heard nothing but positive opinions on it, so I'll probably watch it while in theaters! Hope it'll be good

yes and I though it was awesome the fights were awesome and the characters were all great a bit long but the fight made up for it.
