How healthy is your wallet just for being an otaku?

Can't really buy anime stuff since the shipping itself would cost more the things that i would buy :/

I don't think standing in line for days is my idea of fun. I'm not as hardcore as say: Madarame

Hour at the most if you get there at a decent time. 2 in the summer.

I almost never buy manga or DVDs anymore, and I very rarely buy figurines. The latest figurine purchases I've made (at least ones that weren't WalMart-price Transformer toys) were made 2 years apart and they both cost me less than $40.
I don't usually have a lot of money except when I get lucky with my art selling, but when I do have money I'm incredibly frugal with it and get very picky, even if I'm good to spend it on whatever I want because my needs are taken care of.

I direct my money mainly at weapons and objects that are a hundred years old and spirits.
I suppose you could call me an antiques otaku.
Although I do own a few mangas and anime. And there are one or two figures I wouldn't mind getting.

I was never an otaku. It's not my hobby to collect figurines or buy doujins and stuff. I'd buy doujin just to appreciate the mangaka's work, but so far I don't have any mangaka that I have considered buying their work.

Now adays very healthy, but Ive still got one con this year. Plus a crap ton of anime on blu-ray. So next year it's going to be on a death bed.

I make 35USD per hour before taxes so I am not worry about over spending my budget.
I'm not sure how much I spend on otaku stuff specifically , but my spending for each month range from $800 to $1300 for computer, games, anime, manga, and etc.

I still to this day have no idea why people buy figurines and anime DVDs. What's the appeal of figurines anyway? they don't even look nice.

Different strokes for different folks.
I've never really much spent a lot on my otaku stuff since I usually get all the animes, eroges for free.
ALL HAIL PIRACY!

All I know is that if I had a woman in my life she would absolutly love me blowing my money on her instead.

OT: Don't have a job yet so I save my allowance.
Last time I spent big for anime stuff was back in April, nearly bought all the Charlotte Figs except the obvious bad ones, plus a Chifuyu.
Other than that I spend money mostly on steam games and dinner dates.
I guess that makes me a freeloader.

It's not against the law here to stream stuff online or read manga online, so... I do that. If there's a series I really like here, I'll wait until the issues are on sale for 100 yen, or better yet, 3 for 100 yen, and get them then. I'm patient enough. I only ever buy figurines and such to sell at overpriced auctions online to people who are happy to pay the prices.
