How healthy is your wallet just for being an otaku?

Eh, about $200 on various shonen manga when I was younger (Trigun FTW!), and probably about another Benjamin on story manga volumes now (and the occasional well-done shonen, like Gundam Origin).
As long as you don't mind shit resolution, pirated anime is the way to go.

All I know is that if I had a woman in my life she would absolutly love me blowing my money on her instead.AHA.
OT: Don't have a job yet so I save my allowance.
Last time I spent big for anime stuff was back in April, nearly bought all the Charlotte Figs except the obvious bad ones, plus a Chifuyu.
Other than that I spend money mostly on steam games and dinner dates.
I guess that makes me a freeloader.

Be careful where you're pointing that finger you used to post on a forum about doujinshi. Many people out there say that even for being here, you need a life, so I love how you get off telling other people they need lives.

Same could be pointed to your logic and those who spend money on anime goods. I'm not saying either is true, just saying you might want to watch who you say needs a life.
Someone who buys anime goods does not instantly have no life, same as you don't instantly have no life for posting here. Got it? Thought it wasn't a hard path to follow, but maybe I have to lay it out for you.

it's not that we don't have lives, it's that we buy the stuff because we enjoy collecting it,and if you feel that having a hobby such as collecting stuff deems us unworthy of having lives, well thats your opinion and no one give a toss

For me, money is just an unnecessary step towards anime merchandise, I very rarely spend it on anything else. This is just left over money from summer jobs though, in a month or so I'll be broke again, and if my parents find out the money they lend me goes to anime they will skin me, so no more anime stuff for a while (aside from the occasional dvd set or something when they send me fun money)

Not entirely sure why my last post is the one you chose to quote for this, as I was defending people who make those purchases, but whatever...

Are you retarded? Please explain to me how you cannot use a functional object to help you enjoy your free time.

Um, you said spending your money on material goods that do not perform a beneficial function is inane. I countered with the fact that for people who enjoy anime, anime goods can perform a beneficial function of allowing them to relieve stress.
Perhaps this trail was too convoluted for you to follow, or something, but by all means, you go ahead and use the word "retarded" like it doesn't apply to you.

There is a difference between an effect and a function.
