How healthy is your wallet just for being an otaku?

There's a good function for that... As accessories for the room. And for collection.
Some people collect stamps, and even buy flowers for their GF. You can't even eat flowers.

Pretty healthy, I haven't bought anything too excessive ($500+), but I have bought things like Yumina the Ethereal and School Days.

Spending your money on material goods that do not perform a beneficial function is inane.Allowing you to better enjoy your free time is not beneficial? Stress experts disagree.
Are you retarded? Please explain to me how you cannot use a functional object to help you enjoy your free time.
Um, you said spending your money on material goods that do not perform a beneficial function is inane. I countered with the fact that for people who enjoy anime, anime goods can perform a beneficial function of allowing them to relieve stress.
Perhaps this trail was too convoluted for you to follow, or something, but by all means, you go ahead and use the word "retarded" like it doesn't apply to you.
There is a difference between an effect and a function.
So go be inane and hate on people's purchases elsewhere if that's your function.

I did not "hate" on either the goods or the person for buying them. I simply stated buying non-functional goods is inane. It is a statement of fact, nothing more, nothing less. People do inane things all of the time.
You are the one who took offence. Why did you take offence? I don't know, but if I had to take a guess, I'd say it's because you questioned your purchases and then felt the need to justify them out of defence for your ability to properly spend your worth.

As I mentioned above in this same thread, the only reason I buy said things is to send them to folk who enjoy them enough to spend such money on them. But that might have required you to read more than what you posted and what was replied to it, so yeah. Effort. I know. I personally only question your need to come onto a thread where people enjoy purchases and then call them inane. It's not quite up there with another poster (I know, having to read more) who outright said people who buy anime goods need lives, but it can easily be seen as an unneeded slight on purchases people enjoy.
You came onto a thread where people are talking about their purchases and right out called them inane, which in any stretch of the word is not a positive thing, and could easily - obviously - be seen as an attack. Why did you feel the need to post that word about something people feel good about, if not for an attack?
But whatever. I guess posting stuff on the internet and waiting to see if people find it insulting or not is a thing you enjoy. Either that or just... posting negative adjectives about something that could provoke people. Good for you?

Spoiler:
Are you saying that people shouldn't be able to speak their mind just because what they have to say might upset others? Forums are for discussion, debates and sharing opinions. I shared my opinion and if you don't like it, again, that's your problem, not mine.

Not saying you can't, but adversely, people are free to see it as an angry attack and respond in kind. Next time you don't like that, put more thought into your post ahead of time.

Healthy because I sometimes (once in a long while) buy anything Anime related, but not healthy because I buy other stuff and have bills.

I do not mince words and I speak my mind. I could give two fucks less about keeping up appearances and hiding behind fake smiles, portraying a false image just to "fit in".
The reward for conformity is that everyone likes you, except yourself.

So not holding back from insulting people's purchases (I get it, it... wasn't an insult, just a negative adjective with negative connotations) is the equivalent to not conforming? Yeah...

Again, if you see it as negative that's your problem, not mine. It's my opinion and I shared it, I'm not going to hold back just because someone like you might be offended or because people might not like me for it. That would be considered yielding to group pressures and your standards for social interaction, conformity.

Yeah, I doubt that's how you handle yourself in social situations that don't include anonymity or you're basically counting the days until you find yourself knocked unconscious or with a blade buried in your gut.
Hurrah for the internet, though, right?

For me, money is just an unnecessary step towards anime merchandise, I very rarely spend it on anything else. This is just left over money from summer jobs though, in a month or so I'll be broke again, and if my parents find out the money they lend me goes to anime they will skin me, so no more anime stuff for a while (aside from the occasional dvd set or something when they send me fun money)duuuude, you need like a REAL job.

Or the ones who would overhear you, right? Or are you "conforming" when there are people you don't know around?
