Getting back on topic, I am having trouble with impressing females too, so I doubt I can provide you with any good advice.

Impress them by being yourself. You'd have to be awesome for that to work, though.

In all seriousness though, you're treating it as though every girl will be impressed by the same things. You need to get out of that mindset before you can even consider "getting lucky".

Depends what kind of girls you have around you.
Most the ones in the UK are sluts that I've met.

Pretty much the same here in germany.

To the thread, well it really depends on the girl.
You will not impress a girl with "how strong" and bla bla you are.
My experience: Talk with girls, be yourself, never point something sexual out,
Make her smile.

Talking with girls is really important, if you want to impress.

That´s just my experience.

THIS.... and while you talk to her try to gather as much information as you can about her, once the girl knows your a good listener she will talk nonstop lol (in a good way) then u can use that in your advantage :D

Be yourself and stuff a sock down your pants to make it seem your large... worked for me.

This is what I do, buy some cheap business cards from Vistaprint. People get impressed by a card with your name and info on it.
Next, have something to go with your card, I have a camera and I happen to write. So my card says "writer, photographer" on it. Also have your own website (put the site on your card and have whatever you're into on the site, writing, pictures, music, movies, whatever). Dress well. Have confidence. Don't care about rejection or any psychical attributes that you may have and don't like. Mind over matter, if you don't mind then it doesn't matter.

Have you ever thought to yourself, "I wanna talk to this girl but I have no reason to go up to her or anything to say." Well the card and whatever you have that goes with it will give you a reason. Say you have a video camera, "Excuse me, wanna be in a movie I'm working on? I'm looking for actors."

Think of jokes and funny stories. Making a girl laugh is the best thing you can do. =)

One last bit of advice: know how to make/keep/hold a conversation! When I first started dating it was an awful site, I had nothing to say. What helped me at first was writing stuff to talk about on a little card. I don't need a card anymore, but what I'm saying is think of stuff to say. Awkward silence is a killer! Good luck, sir.

Don't be one of those morons who changes who they are in hopes of getting a girl. You don't need a tan, you don't need to work out every single day. Basically, don't be a tard from the Jersey Shore because all you'll get are sluts and an STD.

It depends on the kind of guy the girl wants. I'm usually impressed if I see a guy off doing his own thing. I remember in high school I was in a class where there was only 2 girls (including myself) and we had to sit at tables and I came before a lot of people, and some guys who acted dumb and really immature (flicking things, making noises, etc) sat at my table. I looked around and saw a guy reading a book and I thought I'd enjoy his company a lot more so I moved over there. Turned out whoever we sat with was our partner for the semester so I was pretty happy with my decision. Not to mention he really was more enjoyable.

I find intelligence in guys really attractive though. .-.

Every girl is different, but most of them like men who they can relay on.
E.g. make lots of money or at least a reliable amount of money. Everything else I think are bonus factors such as humor or talent.

In other words, "opportunity is for those that prepared."

In terms of approaching a girl, however, there are books to read about that can instantly turn you into a "pick-up artist"

One of my personal favorite approach is "magic trick!"
Yes,....sounds cheesy, but if you did the "right" trick it's a crowd control effect that can both gain you the girl's attention or in the worst case, at least everyone else' attention. But that's only me, since I like magic tricks and I've bought a few of them by now.

p.s. yes, the way I meant by "right" trick, most of them need to be bought online. DO NOT present a magic trick that people do it for FREE on youtube. Unless it's really really really a WOW one.

However, don't stop there, you need to think of a follow up for opening up the conversation with the girl after your show, otherwise, you might as well be performing at a senior center.

and of course and always, be FUCKEN CONFIDANT about it.
