How to live for 4.5 months with $700 USD?
0
Rent and utility sort of things (gas, water, power, internet) do not factor into this.
I have to live somewhat on my own (walking to school, cooking/cleaning on my own, that sort of stuff) and I have $700 in savings.
I'd prefer not to use it all by the time the 4.5 months are up.
Any money saving tips?
I'm currently using the wifi at the public library.

Live on noodles, pasta and other cheap, half-fabricated shit, and don't waste your money on useless shit.
That's about how easy it is really. I'm not one to talk though, I'm terrible with money. It just vanishes as soon as I get my hands on it.

I love your profile pic. Just saying. Wonderful use of black and white.
Thanks!

i dunno. i'm kind of stuck in the same predicament for next semester since i'm gonna be studying abroad with no opportunities to find a job and make money. i need to save up as much as i can.
only thing i can say is stick to buying only things that you absolutely need and are cheap. and ALWAYS take public transportation if available. it's cheaper than spending gas on a car (unless they charge five bucks every time you get on a train or a bus). even then, try using your own two feet or a bike to get to places if you can. the less money spent on getting to places, the more you have to spend later, right?

Buy only cheap stuff (noodles es chicken, packs of white rice, beans, veggies, lemonade packets, get a pitcher for said lemonade).
Don't waste money on extra expenses.
Get toilet paper in bulk.
Only eat when you really need to. If you can eat to curb your hunger, do it.
Only buy a weeks worth of food at a time. Buying too much at once will tempted you to not ration any food.
If an event has free food near you, go eat your fill.
If a friend invites you for food, go.
Other than that, just used common sense.
Thats how I lived through college.
Try to work out too, because you will be losing weight.

Tips...
-Use a bicycle. If you buy a decent bike and maintain it well it will save you a lot of money (It will also make you fit and stuff, bitches love fitness).
-Prepaid phones. Smartphones are expensive, even more so when your paying for an unlimited talk/data/texting plan and all you do is text friends with "k" and look at stupid videos on YouTube or something. Load some minutes and watch how amazingly long it lasts you. You might suffer from technological withdrawal but a computer can easily fix that, or so I hope.
-Freelance your skills. Chances are that what your good at can be exploited into making cash.Know how to juggle, or anything unique and interesting? There is someone out there who wants to be able to do what you can. Make sure you don't overcharge for your lessons. No sane person is willing to pay an absurd amount of money for anything these days.
-Negotiate prices. Many places will negotiate, prices aren't set in stone. If your good at smooth talking you can lower prices on a few objects your trying to obtain. Observe and go after items you notice collecting dust. Stores are not collectors. They know at all times which items aren't selling and if a potential customers shows up for those unmovable products you can probable haggle. You wont be able to negotiate 100% of the time but it never hurts to try.

Budget and price shop, dont be afraid to buy food/items that arn't name brand, also if you have a debit/atm/credit card dont use it use cash instead, you can actually see the money your spending and therefore spend less.

Pretty much what every else said.
Use a bike, walk, or public transportation. Buy your food in bulk and use coupons from local ads or the internet. If you eat out, eat out cheap or use dollar menu. Use a pay as you go phone, verizon has one that you pay $1.00 for every day its used but has unlimited texting. Lastly try using cash, you'll think twice about spending it when you see the money actually leave your hands rather than just sliding a piece of plastic through a machine.

Hm... that's around 150$ per month and $5 per day. You could go cup noodle, but that's just bad for you.

I did it once. It's not terrifying if you don't care about masturbating where thousands of other men have.
I donate blood regularly, though. Having Type O is awesome.

I'm kind of heartened to see all my fellow Fakkuzahs offering legitimate insight.
As for myself,
Learn to adore the taste of Ramen.
And.. peanut butter. Protein is essential, but hard to find when you're broke as shit.
