Anything interesting happened to you today?

Work wasn't too bad yesterday. I work at a TV station as a video engineer, and the news broadcasts that I worked on yesterday (two for Telemundo, one for NBC) went pretty smoothly. Other than the live van signal going wonky on-air during a live report, everything for all three shows went well.

It's the run up to christmas (and we've been getting christmas stuff in for about a month now) so we're receiving way too much stock and I keep having to do container runs just to clear space in the stock room. Yesterday's delivery wasn't too bad but I still ended up having to take storage boxes and boxes of gift wrap to the container.

Also today there's a student promotion on so I leave for work at half 5 today and finish at 10. It feels so weird not leaving at half 1 at the latest.

Buuuuuuut after that I get a 3 day weekend. Winning!

Bathed people, medicated them, kept the non-orientated ones from running away, talked to angry family members, called doctors like crazy, twerked at the nurses station. Pretty much a normal day.

i'm a uni student so just standard lectures and seminars really, nothing out of the ordinary aha. sit down, take notes, hope i get everything i need so revision's easy enough for upcoming assessments!

Went to work. Had a slow day, so I asked to leave a lunch. Washed my car, ate sushi, now I'm writing some of the story for our RPG tonight (Dresden Files). I say writing, but its mostly me slacking off on Fakku.

Student event went alright. Bit slow. I messed up someone's discount 3 times (though in the end figured out what I was doing wrong) and the guy's mate was just like "This is what happens when you make them stay past 8". Might have been joking but the way he said it, fucking cheeky cunt.

I don't work.

Work was pretty slow today. Nothing really interesting really happened.

Too much drama for people over 18...

This is my 2nd day off of 4, I am doing a working interview for an office position next week though and I hope I get it.

Different than usual. So I'm on register, checking people out, and then one of the customers suddenly tells me the CEO of the company is in the store. I only caught a few glimpses of him, but it was cool just knowing he was there.

Simple and clean.

Making cups, decaling cups, labeling UPCs and holograms on cups, making pizza boxes, putting cups in pizza boxes, making box, putting cups in pizza boxes in box, closing box, labeling box code on box, placing box on skid, repeating until order is finished, doing new order and repeating.

Good news is that I fucked up a bunch of decals so I could take them home for free.

Went to the charity shop on my day off but work rang me up and I ignored it. Just checked the rota and there was only 3 people there (like most Saturdays) so I'm guessing the newbie who was supposed to be in from 10 until 6 called in sick and they needed someone to cover.

On one hand, I am allowed to say no but it means I don't get paid whatever precious little money I earn and I potentially leave them in the lurch. On the other, I haven't been to the charity shop for months because I've been working every weekend and I miss everyone there. I decided to ignore it but I feel like such a dick.

Other than that, went okay. Still remembered how to use the old fashioned till they have and I saw my till buddy again.

Edit: It was to cover another store. So I feel less bad about it.

Told my manager I don't have time to deal with stupid people (her) and she let me leave early win win

Boring.

Had a manager tonight that only works mornings, so he's making too much, and over all not caring about shit, so he's doing most of my shit out of being bord to death. At least Friend and I were talking BS and Games for most of the night, with little to no work to be done.

I find that people only let you leave early either when the shop is dead, or when you drive them up the wall as well.
