How was work?

- One of the newbies I was with today seems to devour £1s like no tomorrow. Even after getting me to swap change between tills (I gave her £10's worth of coins which normally lasts me ages), she ran out and got me to ask for more. Apparently it wasn't the first time she needed change; when I told my Manager her face dropped, got pissed off with it and said "Again? Where does she keep putting them?"
- Found out today that the store that opened up recently in the Town Centre isn't getting Double Orders on deliveries, yet we are. It pisses me off because the store in Town has a bigger shop floor and stock room. Yet here we are struggling to keep the stock room clear but we can only get so much out .That, coupled with the fact that our budget was recently reduced so it means everyone gets less hours here and there, it doesn't make sense.
I compiled a picture on how I feel about the deliveries at the moment.
Spoiler:
- Apparently last week we put through 45 discounts under ClickCollect10 (the discount code for Click and Collect orders) and have only had 20 C&C pickups. We have someone from Head Office coming down tomorrow for a visit mostly to see how we're coping but also to find out how in the flying fuck that happened, though thankfully I'm not in. I wasn't on the tills much last week and when I was I only put through discounts under Shopping Centre Discount during the VIP event. I'm paranoid I had something to do with it even though I know for a fact I didn't do it. Thanks brain.
- And finally, I realised today that I've memorised the logins of both my Supervisors and my Manager for the tills. Each one trusted me enough to give me their number at different points in time to avoid me getting hung out to dry when leaving me at the shop on my own so they can quickly grab food for their break, or me continuously going to grab them whenever I needed authentication to do something stupidly simple. The latter of which gets annoying for both me and them.

Absolutely bloody mental. We took about 5 grand for the day. Because people have the habit of not putting things back where they got them, the shop was wrecked by the time I left. I had tidied up, but it got messed up again.
Got the odd arsewipe who messed me about as well. For example:
"Are you alright for bags?"
"Yeah I'm fine"
>they pay
"Actually yeah I will take a bag"
>I have to put it through on the till lowering our ATV because they gave me anything but 5p, so I have to give change.

I learned one of my hot coworkers is into D&D and I never would have expected her to be ever. But she mentioned it in a tangent, I pursued the topic, and we ended up having a good conversation.

Busy as per. Finished getting the delivery in 10 minutes before I finished again.

Marginally more interesting than usual. Due to a loose cable or two, my register shut down twice. Not that I particularly minded, as it meant I got to stand around for a few minutes while it booted back up. Also, I had one customer whose total came to $30.06 and I took the opportunity to make a joke about it by reading it as "thirty-aught-six."

One of my coworkers is in trouble for constantly leaving messages complaining about other people - usually for the smallest thing - and saying that we should fire whoever just because they're not quite up to standard. One of them has a learning disability so he's a little slow and easily gets flustered but otherwise knows what he's doing, the two newbies are still learning and them being unable to properly merchanise is our fault since it's been busy and stressful for everyone concerned and we've not had time to properly train them outside of using the tills, and she really has it in for the newest Supervisor; I'm not sure how old she is but she's younger than me by a few years. The majority of us are young, so the rants could just be an issue of age.
Her contract apparently specifically states she's not allowed to put down her rants about other people in writing and my manager has been keeping her texts and written notes as evidence for when someone from Head Office comes down on Friday.
I like her but she is very negative and it does affect everyone. I witnessed first-hand the other day how she gets herself wound up and doesn't think before she acts.

>tidying up a table because customers are messy as fuck
>hear faint "excuse me" which I ignore thinking it's just background noise, or someone trying to get past another customer (it's a common thing to witness where I work)
>voice get slightly louder: "excuse me"
>I turn around, she gets ratty with me and says "I did say excuse me."
That's what happens when you talk to my back. You only got my attention when you spoke the fuck up, so shouldn't that tell you something? You'd have an even higher chance of getting my attention by coming to the side of me and speaking to me. Getting ratty just makes me want to asphyxiate you.

Fine. Works been fine.
Nothing too interesting to report here other than last week somebody got sick. Not sure why.

Today I got asked whether I wanted to be a keyholder. I said yes. It's not a definite yet due to having to stick to a budget but she said she'll "Keep that in mind". So with any luck, I'll earn a bit more money fairly soon. It also means I won't have to use other people's numbers for authentication to perform the simplest of tasks.
Whether I'll be one depends on whether someone gets the sack (and freeing up 30 hours of the budget to go elsewhere) for continuously breaching the part of their contract that specifically states they can't leave messages moaning about people or saying they should be sacked for whatever reason. Turns out she's also been fiddling with the rotas a bit to benefit her. I like the woman, I get along alright with her and she knows what she's doing but she causes a lot of problems with other people and half the shit she does that gets her into trouble is on impulse. She behaved for a while when the last Manager upped and left but she seems to have gone back to her old ways.
Kinda feel bad that I would benefit from someone losing their job but she's been saying for a while that she wants to leave. I dunno.

Told a customer in passing conversation I wasn't sure where everything was since I hadn't been in since Thursday. Her response was "You don't have an excuse to look tired then"
Bitch I've been up since 6 and I went to the charity shop before I came to work. Every day I'm in next week is an 8 hour shift if not more, and I've had 2 much-needed days off this week. To you Christmas started in maybe November or December but for us it started 3 months ago. We've all been working our socks off because of the christmas period which has brought in ridiculous amounts of stock and has resulted in much unnecessary stress for everyone that works there. Fucking judgemental cunt.
