iPhone 4S

Alright, I predicted everything 100% spot on this time, and as I foresaw, the hate is already burning and APPL went down to $360 form $400 a few days ago. I'm buying in right now for obvious reasons, but I'll take a moment to talk about the iPhone 4S before I leave for Uni.
The iPhone 4 was more than just an incremental update to the iPhone line. It introduced the new form factor made from stainless steel and glass. To this date, I have yet to see a phone that's as comfortable or as pleasing to look at as the iPhone 4, even though it's already 18 months old. I own the Galaxy S2, and I know how awkward it is to hold it compared to the iPhone 4.
I can see why people can hate on the iPhone 4S - because this design has remained the same for two years. However let me ask you this - if none of Apple's competitors have made something better than the iPhone 4 design, what would motivate them to change it? I actually want a redesign to, but as much as it pains me to say it, no competition is driving Apple here. No one has made a phone that looks and holds better than the iPhone 4, so Apple didn't change it.
The iPhone 4 design is phenomenal. The Retina Display still has more pixels than the SGS2's display which is bigger by far - it's the flagship Android phone and reading websites on it is a pain if you switch from the iPhone (Trust me, I know). Nothing needed changing on the display aspect either. Also, you know sliding down from the top for notifications? Yeah, try doing that on a screen larger than 4". Feels awkward, doesn't it? The iPhone 4's display size not only is super sharp, but it's a good form factor for that reason also. This is why Apple didn't change the screen size.
Enough about the things that haven't changed and onto the things that have - A5 chip, more RAM, 2x faster, 7x faster graphics. The iPad 2 has proven itself with benchmarks and all that is now in the iPhone. There's nothing to say here. Even if the iPhone 4S was a redesign the internal would still be the same, and it's still a beast. Graphics look better than anything another phone can conjure up.
The camera is amazing. My iPhone 4's 5MP camera has always beaten the SGS2's 8MP. It's all about the lens, and not the pixels. Megapixles have been a myth that has fooled tons of people for years. The iPhone 4S has a CMOS backside illuminated sensor AND a high-end IR filer! Also, an unprecedented f/2.4 aperture. This is simply mind-blowing for a smartphone camera that isn't Nokia. I was ready to shell out the money for it as soon as I saw the camera specs, and that's not even the best part.
Siri is revolutionary. It will change the way people use their phones. Voice Recognition has always been around, but Apple today has made it into something actually usable. INSTANT responses. INSANELY accurate recognition. LIMITLESS commands you can say. If you're unconvinced by the video, you should have seen Apple's live demo at their keynote today. Not a SINGLE mistake and immediate response. From "Do I need my raincoat today" to "Define Mitosis" and "Find some nice restaurants nearby." - EVERYTHING just works seamlessly. In a room full of background noise. This is the core of what makes the iPhone 4S revolutionary - the first phone you actually want to talk to - and communicates back accordingly.
iOS5 brings every feature users could want to the iPhone line, and iCloud is something I've talked about and we all know about - the entire user experience is completely seamless and up in the cloud. I am extremely happy with the announcement even though I saw everything coming as shown in my predictions - and I know when people get their hands on these AAPL will climb right back up. So thank you haters - I will be making money off your ignorance.
Taking everything into consideration, there's no reason why I shouldn't buy the iPhone 4S this year.

not a year after the iphone 4 has been released we have an upgrade... already -_- Nope. iPhone 4 was launched in June 2010. It's been 18 months. That is a very long time for a smartphone - more than any other smartphone, let me add. What company has gone for 18 months without a new model?

tbh I only think this is cool if you dont already have an iPhone 4 yet. If you already have a 4, I honestly dont see it worth the wallet hit + contract woes.

Not buying it. Basically, Apple just got a Samsung Galaxy S2 and plonked it into an iPhone 4 case plus adding iOS5 in it. Big deal.

im more referring to the general population, not everyone's gonna do that unfortunately :/
would've probably considered it myself if i didn't use my upgrade already a few months back. main draw to the iphone is the speed factor.

I'm confident that I'll be using this phone for atleast another year or two until the iPhone 5s or 6.

Spoiler:
I will give you +rep just because I'm simply amazed how you can basically write a bookpage about something like this so I pity your fingers... I mean come on people, just get a normal phone, or at least dont spend that much money on a phone that upgrades every now and then, especially not for a phone that sells the label more than the capabilites of it.

God bless Apple. You have my wallet this year too.
You sound like a complete apple fanboy, your reasoning fails on so many levels considering what you said are mostly based on your personal opinion not facts.
First off, Galaxy S2 is thinner then the Iphone 4. I don't know how it feels awkward to hold in your hand but I suppose having a bigger screen is your complain here?
Now, I'm not gonna counter everything you just said but, I'll put in my own non-biased opinion.
The retina display on the Iphone 4 is no doubt more superior then the S2 but unless you look at your screen at nearly point blank range, it's not that noticeable.
Also , S2 has the SAMOLED screen which makes it more appealing to the eye.
And the S2 can definitely outdo the Iphone 4 when it comes to photo taking but that's a given considering in the time gap between the phones.
Now, in my opinion, the Iphone is still pretty much next to worthless to me because of how much restrictions it has. Everything I want to put on the phone has to be done through Itunes. Still can't change my message tones without Jailbreaking?
No thanks!
Seriously, the only thing going for it is the huge library of apps available in their app store in comparison to the Android market.
Have to say though, I wonder if Nexus Prime is gonna outdo the 4S.

Let me guess. Only Sprint, Verizon, and At&t are going to be able to sell these phones if you want a contract.
1
Yup. Sprint, Verizon and AT&T. Them or just get unlocked.
Funny, because most of your statements are opinions as well. It's quite ironic how I own the current flagship Android phone if I'm an Apple fanboy though.
Being thinner isn't a problem. It is less comfortable in that regard as well but it's not a big issue. The true issue is the screen, and the difficulty of bringing down the Notifications Bar from the top. If you hold one you know what I mean. It's awkward to slide it down with the thumb of the same hand holding the phone.
It's incredibly noticeable. Load up any website with a decent amount of text, and you'll notice that the font is unreadable on the SGS2 unless you zoom in due to the bad pixel density. Not a problem with the iPhone 4.
Actually it has the Super AMOLED+, which is quite different to the original Super AMOLED used by the SGS. It is a very nice screen when there is no text involved, and I know that. I use it to watch anime a lot and the colors really pop.
Megapixels aren't everything, and the SGS2 camera will often lose to the iPhone 4 (I'm not talking about the 4S - the original 4) especially in low light conditions. The noise is unbearable even at the lowest ISO. Look up comparison shots, you'll see.
Finally the first opinion that actually makes sense. While some people enjoy using iTunes (and soon iCloud) to manage the phone, sure, you may not like it. That's a reason good enough to not use it. Personally I think not using iTunes/iCloud to manage the SGS2 to be a huge pain, but that's me.
Now here is where ignorance is shining through again. There are so many things iOS has going for it even at a fundamental level. For example, you can root your Android phone and put whatever custom ROM on it you want, but you still can't shake to undo, can you?
Does Android work with PEAP proxied Wi-Fi networks? No it doesn't. For that reason alone 95% of all Fortune 100 enterprises and everyone in my university will use an iPhone, and not Android.
We're not even going into features here. Don't just randomly assume Android is better. We'll see what Ice Cream Sandwich brings to the table in a few days, but right now there's no such thing as one OS leaving another in the dust.
Raw specs? Yes.
Usability? No.
Sales? No.

Yeah you two have fun with your opinions argument. One thing though:
Yes you are a fanboy and there's nothing ironic about what you owning an Android despite being a fanboy.
