i enjoyed it. For all those who are going to say it deviated from the comic too much. Just don't see it or do something other than talk smack about a good movie.

Wait, you didn't like those things? I'll admit the big daddy back story could have been done better but everything else was gold.

I thought that the formulaic 'getting the girl' and backstory, and the ridiculousness of the jetpack, actually added to the film as a parody of the superhero genre. The fact that the plot is so predictable with everything else so insane is what makes it great.

I actually enjoyed the "getting the girl" stereotype, due to the whole anti-hero wave that's been hitting the last couple of comic movies (Spiderman and Batman) and was pleased they kept it at just that, instead of,"love interest gets kidnap, must save her"

That is a the statement of one of those comic purest. You know who they are the ones with no type of taste or reasonable logic at all. just ignore it.

And the rest of the movie didn't make you go 'what'?
No, I was to busy going "Holy shit!"
If you're talking about the killing machine known as Hit-girl.
Also, going "wtf?" at parents bringing their 10 year old kids to the movie.

I went through my fair share of that, but it's a pretty unique film among its peers, and there's a lot of stuff that just boggles the mind...I wasn't expecting that.
Spoiler:
And seriously? What's the age rating where you are, because even as a 15 rating here, that's not legal. I mean, their choice, but the sex, violence and language would need some explaining as well as context...

Yeah, the movie was rated R, a guardian or parent must accompany anyone under 17. They probably didn't know what they were getting into. Although, I didn't see them leave the theater...
I understand why they changed the origin though.
But whatever, I'd recommend this movie to anyone that doesn't mind a shit load of cussing and violence.
And thumbs up if you caught the batman references.

I must be in a serious minority, I found this movie REALLY depressing, because
I walked out of this movie feeling helpless and useless, not a good feeling.
That said, the really depressing thing for me was
I need to get my head out of the clouds

I think the realism and abusive relationship lying underneath the complete absurdity and comic violence of the film was really clever, and made you think after you'd watched it, but I didn't find it depressing. The message is pretty brutal and depressing by nature, sure, but I think you're breaking it down too much and looking at one element rather than the bigger picture.
The structure of the film and the ending sort of took the edge off it for me, so that I was more left with lots of awesome and lots of respect for the construction of the film, but then some food for thought.

It was good Hit-Girl was obviously the best part. I have to say after reading the comic it made me hate some parts of the movie though.

But what can you do Hollywood kills original stories; beacuse the muti-million dollars they originally made just isn't good enough for them.

Just be glad it wasn't buttf*cked like Wanted.
