I heard there was a dog in there but i guess i heard it wrong, but still. I heard of similar laws elsewhere where they will put out the fire and send you a bill for their services, which is fair, but what if there was a kid, old person or animals caught in there.

Some things not mentioned I suppose.

Fire department is from a different county than that one.

Instead of creating their own fire department, the city decided on this subscription pay.

Family was reminded multiple times to pay the subscription fee and refused to. And exception could mean that the citizens of this county could stop paying the subscription fee and basically try to do a pay for service situation instead.

Nothing still has been done about this for the town.

Major liability issues for this.

Morally right or wrong? Probably wrong. Takes a cold heart to just let someone's house burn down.

But that's not the only issues at hand always.

What's wrong with these firefighters? do they don't have empathy or something? it is not wise to bound into policy like that IMO!?

i'd take it to court and battle it out there. i mean if they offered to pay after the fire was put out then i think they should have helped.

I think the smarter thing to do was put out the fire but giving them a hefty fine instead for not paying the fee but utilizing the service. It's still a douche move, but it'd at least save their house, and they'd get more money out of it.

They would have also stayed off the news and not look like gigantic dicks to the world.

I just wonder how they could be so indifferent about such a thing. How could you just watch a house burn down to the ground and do nothing when, in fact, you have all the means to save it, work policy or not. I am quite stunned.

this just proves that when you live in America for to long you become cold and heartless.

So it's cold and heartless to being forced to foreclose on someone after repeatedly giving them chances to do what they need to do and just being unable to help them anymore?

It's so easy for people to point fingers. But like stated, the firefighters have their own families to worry about. Their own jobs and supporting themselves. They had repeatedly reminded the family to pay their fee with no results.

It's not their fault the situation occurred. It's not. You can point the blame at the mayor and the city. You can point the blame at the family for not paying in the first place. But you can't blame the firefighters caring more about their families than a complete stranger.
