Thats true, but then that goes for everything else. If you are an office worker, and you were runnning late for your job, and you saw a guy that got shot on the sidewalk, would you just leave him? Because that guy can sue you, or you can lose your job because you were late. Yes, I know people who have lost their jobs because they were late once, although it was really late.
Of course, this and that aren't the same thing, but your words can be applied to a broader area
I never said it was necessarily the morally right thing to do. But there is a whole lot more factors involved than just "Wow they are cold hearted bastards because they didn't do it." It's a lot more of a complicated argument than that.
And it's also the fact that people will point fingers and blame them. But in truth, most people, a lot of the people here condemning them, would have done the exact same thing as them regardless of how much they try to state otherwise.
It's not a simple black and white thing with the firemen. But it is something that shows that another solution SHOULD be available and wasn't. And that was the fault of the Mayor and the City.

On the one hand, it is pretty cold blooded to just stand there and watch. on the other, fuck those people for thinking they could get away with being cheap bastards while everyone else paid.
where i live, there is no water but wells. so the FD has tank trucks. with that limited available water, they can't put out your house, just keep the fire from spreading.
also, has that town never heard of volunteer FD?
