Megadeath because it has more letters ( 9 > 8 ).Megadeth is spelt Megadeth, not Megadeath.
Also, kind of a silly reason to choose whos better.
Skeletonwitch has more letters in their band name but I prefer Nile.

Kill Em All, Ride The Lightning, and Master of Puppets. Three Godly albums by Metallica. I dont much care for their more recent work, but I still prefer them over Megadeth.

Now, I do like their newer stuff, everyone freaks out "It's not as good as 'Puppets' or Ride the Lightning, etc. I'm glad they went the way they did, got off the thrash, and become more melodic.
Lol? What songs on Death Magnetic are more melodic than Master of Puppets, Disposable Heroes, Orion or Damage Inc?
As for the original question, Metallica at their peak were better than the best of Megadeth, but Megadeth has been way more consistent. I don't think I've ever heard a Megadeth song I flat out disliked. Earlier today Fuel came on the Radio and I switch the channel and found another station playing U2... and I didn't change back. If I weren't driving I would have facepalmed at the fact that I was opting to listen to U2 over Metallica.

Think you missed the point of the work melodic in this context.
But that's cool. At least I've never picked U2 over Metallica. Or any other band ever. But my U2 hating can wait for another time.
Suffice to say, I have no problem listening to their newer stuff. I'm not hung up on how different sounding everything got after the Black Album.

Megadeth. While a few years ago I would have said Metallica but my musical tastes have changed over time. Now, Metallica to me is kind "meh" compaired to other bands. Megadeth, though their sound has changed a little bit, still sounds like Megadeth.

It's a close call, but I'm going with Metallica on this one. Both Rust in Peace and Master of Puppets were amazing, but Puppets was still a cut above RiP. On top of that, Megadeth's Risk album was quite possibly the worst album I've ever heard. I feel sorry for anybody who actually spent money on that disaster. Hidden Treasures and Cryptic Writings weren't that great either. From TWNaH on it was more or less hit or miss.

Never really liked metallica to begin with. i actually liked there songs better when someone else was covering them.
Being a huge Megadeth fan,my choice is quite obvious. :D

I don't really like either. Liked Metallica but got sick of it and it got gay. I'll still listen to Megadeth though. I prefer indie shit.

I love Old School Metallica (Kill em all through the Black Album). Although Megadeth is better nowadays. I still luv Metallica though, METAL UP YOUR ASS!!
