One insignificant thing you dislike about today.

My little brother keeps watching and rewatching this one CD that I hate at full volume (obviously trying to annoy me)

It's this dumb singing CD where the little kids sing in whiny voices about going to the zoo and I really do hate it. Plus my room's sound proofing is horrible and when I'm trying to read or watch videos it annoys me a lot :P

My face when a customer came in today claiming she bought something from us before Christmas day but left it behind because she got sidetracked helping someone else. She came in without a receipt and left it over a week to come in and say anything.

Forum Image: http://i2.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/005/498/1300044776986.jpg

No note was left anywhere and without a receipt there wasn't much I could do. She got shitty with me when I told her I couldn't help. "I'm a bit disappointed because I paid for something and you're going to have one extra item in your stock", as if that's an issue; our stock numbers are always all over the place anyway. If you're too daft to keep track of your purchases and then come in making claims without proof of purchase that's your own goddamn fault. I don't owe you anything.

  • I cooked a pizza I bought from ASDA; decided to splurge on a more expensive one. Huge thing, stuffed crust. But I forgot I don't like the kind of pizza I bought, the topping always tastes weird.

  • I went for a shit earlier and now I can't stop farting.

  • This wasn't today it was actually a few days ago, but someone asked if I wanted to meet up with them for a catchup before she went back to Bournemouth. I said sure. But then she went silent on me so no plans were made and it didn't happen. We used to be really close until a few years ago when she led me on, slept with someone we both knew, then moved away and got with someone else.

  • I can't be arsed to go to the pub tonight but I said I would and I've skipped out the last few times I've been invited. I don't wanna be a letdown again because of not wanting to be social.

9th January
It's almost 4am and I need to sleep, but I'm hungry.

12th January
Nobody answered the door for a package addressed to me the other day so it's at the sorting office and I have to retrieve it.
Thing is, I forgot what I even ordered.
After sifting through the various sites I've ordered from, turns out it's a copy of Akiba's Trip which I bought from Amazon after a friend of mine recommended it to me. I'd known about it beforehand but I was like "Fuck it I earn a wage now and I have the money, I'll buy a copy". Few days down the line I forgot I ordered it. The subject came up again and I really wanted to play the game, so I bought a digital version of the game on PSN. So I paid twice for the same game without realising. I'm an idiot.

I'm not gonna bother trying for a refund because it's my own fault. Silver lining; I have a physical copy.

People. Judgers. People that can't control themselves. People that act disgusting to a girl. A woman. Cant feel safe. Feeling pity for another that no one wants to be felt for themselves. Distrust. Mm. Being surrounded by bad people that want to hurt others. Being amazingly awesome and good that makes people angry at me for no reason so I want to crush them because no one has a right to push there unreasonable feelings on another. Mm. People that go crazy and push there feelings on another or try to lol. Hmm..traitors, people that do bad things, woman still being pushed down till this day and taken advantage of, laaaa other things, animal abuse, child abuse, Pinocchio used as fap material in love hotels in japan..(pfft), aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnd I dunno~

Stressed out because I keep staying up until the wee hours of the morning, doing nothing but messing around on Facebook and porn sites, when I should've been to bed early... trying to readjust my sleep cycle so that I won't be tired and sleep deprived on my first day of new job in a couple of days, which starts earlier in the morning than I've been used to waking up lately.

Doubly annoying because I was waking up at a decent time all last week, but I've been slowly falling back on bad sleep habits. More frustrating because this new stress is keeping me up late.

Really hate my natural tendency to revert back to a nocturnal sleep cycle.

Tomorrow we have guys coming to fix the lights at my workplace and I was tasked by my boss to hand the paperwork to the Outlet center to get permission to let them on-site. We received the paperwork on Friday via e-mail but I was only told about it yesterday as my bosses were clocking off. Thanks. Why it wasn't done on Friday, or Saturday when we had 3 Keyholders in including myself I'll never know.

But I digress.

I went into work early to get it out the way; the working patterns on a typical Sunday mean I only get 2 people all day, so I tried doing it out of trading hours. But the Outlet refused the paperwork as one specific section on the form said the insurance policy only had £1million on it when it was supposed to be 5. Contacted the company doing our lights and they confirmed it's 5. Went back and explained what I'd been told and the Outlet refused it again. Phoned up the company again and explained the Outlet were being difficult. They were confused as the Outlet accepted that specific form before and had no idea why they're suddenly refusing it, so they offered to talk to the Outlet for me. 2 hours later I get the a-okay, and someone from Security popped down and picked up the paperwork for me, which I had to awkwardly fish out from the bin assuming I didn't need it anymore. Good thing I didn't rip it up.

The whole process took 4 hours, during that time I sent out multiple e-mails which I never got a response from, made multiple phonecalls, and paid 2 visits to the Visitor Information Center before opening. All this just to get permission to let someone on-site to change our lights. It was such a fucking headache.

Edit: 6 lights got changed in the end.
That just really fucks me off.

My mum bought a can of coconut milk so naturally I got curious about how it tastes without being in the presence of chocolate so I opened it to try it.

Not what I expected.
I expected it to be sweeter.

Also at work I got chewed out for forgetting what the acronym SMILE WIDER stands for. It's such a stupid and arbitrary thing the higher-ups expect us all to remember. They also expect us all to know weekly and daily sales figures like it makes any difference at all.

This one person on my facebook feed:

"Hahaa mad moment"
*has a hat on and is pulling a slight duckface*

I expected a full japanese sailor uniform and a gimp mask with inflatable horns on it going completely apeshit. Not a hat and a facial expression.

Normally I don't care but she uploads a lot of these. Time to purge I think.

I've eaten like a pig the last couple of days and now my farts smell like eggs. Not sure if I've just been boredom eating or if I've genuinely been hungry. I guess if I have to ask then I was probably bored.

I also go through weird phases where I don't feel hungry for long periods of time.

Couple of things:

First off, had to be up at 6AM to beat traffic to get to my university interview in Essex. On my day off. So naturally grumpy from the off. Also being cooped up in a car for two 3 hour trips is murder.

Second, on our way there this guy hit into the back of our car and had the fucking nerve to accuse my Father of backing into him, even getting out his car to swear and say he would show the footage that his truck records to get him in trouble. Was terrified something might happen between them and was scared for my Father. He's a tough son of a bitch and always will be but he's in his 60's now, not exactly "Fighting-in-the-middle-of-the-freeway-age" anymore.

18th February

Quite possibly getting made redundant soon.

Our store is leased from an Outlet which was meant to get renewed last August, but because we heard nothing about it for months we didn't know what was going on, whether we were staying or leaving.

Fast forward to yesterday and an outlet manager found out some girls from another store were applying for a job opening we have and discouraged them from doing so. They prodded him for information but in the end assumed whether it was because we were getting shut down soon, to which he said no comment. Totally not a major implication there were plans to get rid of us. At first we thought it was idle gossip so didn't take it at face value. But our manager's fiancé has a friend that works in the outlet that confirmed it, but couldn't tell us when.

The thing that infuriates me the most is that the outlet have not told us anything and go silent on us when we ask what the fuck is going on. Everything we've heard so far is from word of mouth. We also bend over backwards to keep them happy so it feels like a lot of what we've done for them is wasted effort. I'm starting to think that the company we work for opened up a new store in the Town Centre because they knew the Outlet store would eventually get closed.

21st February
Was accused of being in a bad mood last night while on Skype. I continuously told them I wasn't, but they wouldn't let the subject drop which ironically put me into one.

It took a brief outburst of anger and explaining that they're the reason I'm now in one for them to shut up about it.

I had some guy who I think was high try to hit on me while at a gas and a large coke (because errands make thirst happen) at a QuikTrip. He reeked of something I wasn't familiar with but I can now guess was a dank blunt and his eyes had some sort of pinkish tint. I'm pretty sure he was just there for pretzels and a slushie before I walked in. He was annoyingly persistent and would not give me my personal space.

He didn't follow me out of the building though.

  • We all got underpaid this month. I don't know how they even managed to cock up the two Managers' pays who are on a salary basis and should always get paid the same every month.

  • My hours being cut because the company I work for is enforcing an unrealistic penny-pinching budget and keeps having a go at my manager for overspending on labour. Bare in mind we're still 2 staff members down.

  • This budget is the same reason they won't up my contract, even though I'm a keyholder now and doing so would be cheaper in the long run for them in holiday pay

  • And losing out on a Christmas bonus because our store was deemed "exceptional", so rather than go by Company sales targets we were set targets by our ASM. The ones he set were unrealistic and we often couldn't meet them. So despite doing exceptionally on the system (up by 20% on average compared to last year) we got dick for it. The stinger is that we weren't told any of this until yesterday, and stores that weren't classed as "exceptional" but only got a small positive percentage got something out of it. We worked our tits off, had to put up with a lot of bullshit from both the Outlet and customers, people handing in notices leaving us understaffed, and the workload (8 pallets every few days give or take) caused a lot of stress. What did we get for it? An acknowledgement from a higherup through e-mail. Whoop de fucking do.

>Skype with someone who insults me frequently (apparently affectionately but it doesn't feel like that), abuses their host privelages on games we play when I annoy them (just by talking, apparently) and messes around with my builds on our Minecraft Creative game.
>Actually wonders why I go quiet on them or why I'm mad at them

  • Was stood outside in the rain for half an hour waiting for the Sunday bus. The timetables changed but I thought they went every half an hour, but the one I needed was cut out from the timetable leaving an hour gap. Without it I can only go to work either insanely early, or just on time. Or late if the bus is late.

Could walk, but today by the time I realised I would've been too late and it was pissing it down

When I got to work it was obvious the floor wasn't swept since there were bits all over the floor and the paperwork from cashing up the previous day wasn't done properly.

9th March
Manager was in a bad mood because there was a visit that didn't go very well yesterday so she went on the warpath and I got chewed out for doing bugger all in the evening on Monday and not doing the window on Sunday, plus some general complaints that we're all guilty of.

  • I usually get told to not bother with the window, and the e-mail wasn't clear on whether there was a window change. It said it didn't have to be done until Monday evening, so I don't see why that was an issue.

  • Admittedly I did bugger all on Monday evening, but I took what I thought to be a well-deserved rest. When I was doing a shift with them both that day they got the delivery in within the hour and spent the rest of their shift out the back chatting, surfing the web, and getting coffee. For at least 3 hours. I even had to remind them to sign the cashing up paperwork before they left. And they left their fucking coffee cups around the stock room again for me to clean up. They were even stood at the tills chatting when I first got there. I spent my whole shift trying to redo both front tables, getting stuff out and serving customers; I didn't stop.

Also I had a rude customer. Lil old lady and her husband, both a full face of thunder. She comes up to my till and tells me "Your packs of card in the corner are crammed, we can't get to them. You'd best sort them out or else you'll lose customers" in the rudest way.
Packs of card don't sell that well even if they're merchandised properly, so they're not in our top 50. As far as I'm concerned it's low priority so I ignored the suggestion.

A moment later: "Did you hear me?"
[INTERNAL EYE ROLLING]
[THEY'RE NOT GOING TO LET IT GO ARE THEY?]

"We're in the middle of remerchandising the bays and tables at the moment. It's slow progress but we're working through it. It's on my to-do list among everything else."
Didn't sit well with her. After she paid she left without even so much as a thank you.

What she doesn't know is that our labour budget has been slashed to the point where we can only afford to have everyone on base hours, and on a 10-hour trading day we'll be lucky to have 4 people in. Today we had 3, so only so much can get done if you consider that we have to get stuff out, tidy up after people who put things back in the wrong place all the time and serve customers, and we were in the middle of doing a stock count as well.

If you don't have intimate knowledge of the store's office politics or what employees are having to do on a day to day basis, don't tell them how to do their fucking job.

17th March
Been feeling really lethargic all week and any physical labour I do hurts my back.
Time to pop ibuprofens like sweets again I guess. :V

26th March
Woke up to the sensation of me pissing myself. Lo and behold woke up to slightly damp boxers and had to change them. Thankfully wasn't enough to dampen the bed.

Not done that for years.
