If you haven't watched One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" yet, WTF ARE YOU DOING!!!!
In my eyes One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is the BEST movie ever created!

2 weeks ago I went on a movie marathon, and I'm not quite sure of the order of the movies I watched. Thus, I shall rate the ones I watched.

Date Night

Spoiler:
Forum Image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/08/Date_night_poster.jpg

Overall, I would give this movie a 8/10.

It was actually funny in some parts, but it still felt like the couple could do more. I wasn't satisfied with the ability of the couple, because of who they went to for help twice. And when they went to the person for the second time, it just killed it for me. Though, it's just my personal opinion.

Overall it was a good movie. I really recommend it.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Spoiler:
Forum Image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/64/Movie_poster_Anchorman_The_Legend_of_Ron_Burgundy.jpg

Overall, I would give this movie a 5/10.

Okay, let's face it. Just because Will Ferrell is in it, doesn't always make it an awesome movie. I didn't quite enjoy it, because it somehow reminded me a bit of Holy Man. (I actually liked Holy Man despite the horrible reviews.) Though, I don't know, I just don't seem to like the plot. I found it stupid, and the ending was just horrible. I didn't really find it funny. :/

I wouldn't recommend this movie unless you're a pervert, have a really good sense of humor, and a Will Ferrell fan.

Easy A

Spoiler:
Forum Image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/95/Easy_a_australian.jpg

Overall, I would give this movie a 8/10.

It was really... different. I still didn't understand why she wanted to be thought of as a slut, but it was really different. I really liked it.

I would highly recommend it to those who don't mind watching teen comedies. It's about high school, and if you enjoy watching what horrendous stereotypes people have nowadays, you will definitely enjoy it.

Fanboys

Spoiler:
Forum Image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7c/Fanboys_ver2.jpg

Overall, I would give this movie a 6/10.

I'm not a fan of Star Wars or Star Trek. I have never watched a Star Trek episode, but I have watched a bit of Star Wars. I didn't really quite enjoy the movie, because the ending made me go like, "Uh... so that's it?" And everyone they met during the road trip seemed to be a fan of Star Trek or Star Wars. Like, a hardcore one. It was funny to an extent, but the ending just really bothered me.

Friends with benefits - 08/10

I wish a boy would do that for me ~.~
So cute, the way he won her love back.

Troy(2004)- 8\10.
Besides the women being utterly useless, I enjoyed the film.
*sigh* Oh, Orlando bloom. You got dirty in this, dear. ;~; (But that's okay. You still make me fangirl.)
And I don't like Brad Pitt that much as an actor, but he did well in this movie. *eyes naked body* Oh yes he did.

Oh, and the battles were awesome. Plenty of blood, clashing weapons, and battle cries.
I liked this movie. *nods*

Footloose 9/10
Kenny Wormald ❤

Sleepy Hollow (1999)

Johnny Depp is awesome as usual... perhaps the only thing I didn't like about the movie was how much the story had changed from the original story. Ichabod was actually useful in the movie, whereas in the original story he was a useless burden on the Van Tassel family. Another thing about the original story is that the Horseman is hinted to be fake, as Brom (Katrina's suitor) always laughed at the mention of Ichabod's name after Ichabod was scared away from Sleepy Hollow, while in the movie he's a real ghost/spectre under the control of Katrina's stepmother.

Overall I'd give it an 80/100

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)- 9\10.
My favorite part would have to be the beginning when the prisoners made of the 'fresh fish' cry.
Sad? Yes. But, it still elicited a chuckle.

Shawshank is a all time favorite, what makes this movie so good is it's simplysity, nothing in this movie is complicated.
And questions it broughts up, Should prisoners with X years have an option to stay or leave?

Offtopic: have anyone here seen Akira?
Is it any good?

That is very insightful. *nods*
I did not think if that. But I wholeheartedly agree.
And it also shows hope in the most hopeless places.

Another movie that "shows hope in the most hopeless places." is One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
Have you seen it?

This movie is equally as good as The Shawshank remeption.
One thing you have to keep in mind while watching this is, that every single thing that happens in this movie is not fiction.
Well the story is thought up but to use Shock therapy and lobotomized people was very much real.

In sweden they could lobotomized you for basically anything or if you were lucky they'll only Sterilize you.

Wikipedia
Spoiler:
In 1997, following the publication of articles by Maciej Zaremba in the Dagens Nyheter daily, widespread attention was given to the fact that Sweden once operated a strong sterilization program, which was active primarily from the mid 1930s until the 1970s. A governmental commission was set up, and finished its inquiry in 2000.
The eugenistic legislation was enacted in 1934 and was formally abolished in 1976. According to the 2000 governmental report, 21,000 were estimated to have been forcibly sterilized, 6,000 were coerced into a 'voluntary' sterilization while the nature of a further 4,000 cases could not be determined. However, the 40,000 or so socio-medical cases are contested, and Zaremba and others argue that they were more in the interest of society than individual women. The Swedish state subsequently paid out damages to victims who contacted the authorities and asked for compensation.
The program included all known criteria for sterilization, including a loosely phrased "social" indiciation. In 1922 the State Institute of Racial Biology was founded in Uppsala and in 1927 Parliament began to deal with the first legal provisions on sterilisation. A new draft was produced in 1932, already taking into account sterilisation for general socio-prophylactic reasons, and even without the consent of the person concerned. The draft was adopted in 1934. Another law, passed in 1941, was more far reaching, included a social indication and did not include any age of consent limit.
From 1950, the number of eugenic sterilisations under the 1941 legal provisions gradually decreased. It is possible but not proven that the Swedish sterilizations targeted travellers. These were sometimes viewed as a separate race or ethnic group. The Swedish Racial Hygiene Society had been founded in Stockholm in 1909, and the 1934 works by Alva and Gunnar Myrdal was very significant in promoting the eugenic tendencies in practical politics. The authors theorized that the best solution for the Swedish welfare state ("folkhem") was to prevent at the outset the hereditary transfer of undesirable characteristics that caused the individual affected to become sooner or later a burden on society. The authors therefore proposed a "corrective social reform” under which sterilisation was to prevent "unviable individuals” from spreading their undesirable traits.
In Sweden, sterilization is only compulsory before sex change. This last compulsory sterilization has been criticized by several political parties in Sweden. The Christian Democrats is the only party in the Parliament of Sweden that is in favor of keeping compulsory sterilization.

It was downright horrible and i think that this movie gave the unknown question about mental institution justice!

(Chinatown)
Plot summary:
A private detective investigating an adultery case stumbles on to a scheme of murder that has something to do with water.

If they would make a game about chinatown, it would without doubt be L.A Noire.
(Even the music sounds similar to Chinatown)
There's a reason why i think Jack nicholson is the best actor out there and this movie proves it.

In this movie we follow Jake Gittes a charming private detective who gets the job done, no matter what and keeps the relationship with his customers strictly business, with that i don't mean that he's like bond and fucks every single girl he meet.

He is hired by Evelyn Mulwray when she suspects her husband Hollis, builder of the city's water supply system, of having an affair.
And as this case progressiv we, the audience discovers that there's more to it then just a cheating husband.
And the ending is needless to say interesting.

If you're looking for a good noir/crime movie this is it.
It got marvelous acting by Jack nicholson.
Sadly enough this movie is very underrated.
"The Chinatown screenplay is now regarded as being one of the most perfect screenplays and is now a main teaching point in screen writing seminars and classes everywhere."

As implied a very good script.
And the music is just excellent!
Spoiler:

Overall this movie gets a 10/10 from me!
This movie is definitely worth a watch!'

And i dunno if this movie even looks like L.A nor if it looks like it in the 30's, never been there

Screwing Like a Chinaman!
(Two reasons why this clip is good, Jacks laughs and his reaction at the end of the video)

Quotes:
"But, Mrs. Mulwray, I goddamn near lost my nose. And I like it. I like breathing through it. And I still think you're hiding something."

"[pointing to a graffito on the wall] Isn't that your phone number?
Jake Gittes: Is it? I forget. I don't call myself that often."

"You've got a nasty reputation, Mr. Gittes. I like that"
("Shinji Ex", i'm sorry i just had to put it there)
(And if you're reading this Shinji Ex take it as a compliment)

Spoilers
(Read at your own cost)
Spoiler:
It's even got Incent 0_0
So i have thought about Jake's last words, "As little as possible" for the whole day and i've come to two conclussions.
#1 With the words "As little as possible" i think he means that he developed feelings for Evelyn Mulwray and he's trying to convince himself that it won't happend again.
#2 "As little as possible" is a references to this quote.
Screenwriter Robert Towne based his famous exchange-Evelyn: "What did you do in Chinatown?" Jake:"As little as possible."-on a joke a LAPD officer friend told him. This was because there were so many different Chinese dialects floating around that an Anglo cop would only get himself into trouble by misinterpreting anything said by the Chinese residents.

And with that he means he's giving up on the detective stuff and going back to Chinatown.
I personally think this is the most plausible one.

Youtube comment:
"I don't feel Jake is really in love with anything or attached to anything, especially not Mrs Mulwray. What he believes is that his profession can actually make a difference and have some credibility and dignity for once in handling this case. All his illusions, that he is about to make a difference for once in his life, are shattered exactly where his career began, in Chinatown. His last words were "As little as possible" which sums up the history of his efforts."

I think the facial expressions from La Noire are taken strongly from this movie, just by looking at the actor you can see if he/she is lying or not!
La Noire = Chinatown.
If you liked Noire then you'll love Chinatown!

So that concludes it, this'll probably be the longest post on this tread!
(Edit* I felt like editing the review out and make it its own post.)

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest : 9/10

wow, the actors were surely amazing.
