well...if you try hitting on that kind of girl, they will usually start speculating whether or not you are just teasing them and will usually choose the easy way out by shrugging it off.

Bookworms are normally romantics at heart, so if you can reenact a recognizable romantic scene for her, I'm sure she'll be able to take the hint.

Also, if you're able to start a conversation with her online or in any other indirect manner, I'm quite sure she'll be able to open up to you. <<This is because they are usually more nervous when talking in person.

Of course, this all could only work if you manage to notice the girl first. They have a habit of feeling invisible in real life, and thus, are quite capable of remaining quiet in most situations.

This. I'm ashamed of the fact that I enjoy reading, hentai, and video games. Even though the type of guys I'm interested in would find these qualities endearing, my female friends would think less of me if they knew. I'd be more open about it if it weren't for us girls and our stupid judgmental ways.

Ontopic: They're rare because either they're like me and hide their obsessions, or they don't get out much. You just have to know where to find them. ;D Start making regular visits to local bookshops or libraries.

they exist -_- most guys just dont see them because 1 the guy is holed up in his room playing a video game 2 the girl is holed up in her room reading or other such stuff 3 both are out of sight so neither see each other lol

Just because a girl wears make-up, that doesn't mean she looks unnatural. The ones who look unnatural are the ones who put on heavy layers of it.

I myself am a shy bookworm, and despite being male, this has happened to me on a number of occasions. Girls that I've never spoken to before would randomly come up to me and start hitting on me, and I figured I was just being teased, so I would try and finish the encounter as quickly as possible. And it got even more awkward when they kept on approaching me on a daily basis.

You sound pretty popular to me. Despite some girls who usually go for the bad boys, there are also some that go gaga over shy, bookworm type of guys.

Are you interested in anyone of them?

Whenever someone says that I sound popular, I automatically deny it, but then I stop and think about it, and realize that I actually know a decent amount of people, even if some of them are just acquaintances that I see on a semi-regular basis. That, and people that I know often comment on how kind and friendly I am, which means quite a lot to me actually. One of my friends came up to me once and thanked me for being kind and compassionate towards her when she was going through a phase where she felt really insecure and depressed, when really, I was just doing what I always do. :)

Anyways, back on topic.

Well, some of them, I just wasn't interested because some of their behavior seemed like they were simply trying to get into my pants out of desperation. And others, I was interested in, quite a lot actually, but by the time I mustered up the courage to let them know, it was already too late. :(
