Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

I loved this movie. The way Edgar Wright capture the essential parts of the books was incredible. I believe Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World should be the movie to look at when Hollywood decides to make movies based on comic books.
I definitely agree with you there. If only all comic book movies could be done this well. At least Marvel's movies have been improving as of late, (with Iron Man and the new Hulk movie).

The visual style of the movie would only work with comics that weren't dark and moody or ones that don't take itself seriously.

Finally released over here in the UK and just got back from seeing it.
Just fucking wow, one of the best movies I have ever seen. It's also the most fun I've had watching a movie, I've seen plenty of brilliant movies but this is the first one where it was genuine joy to watch and every character was impossible to hate.
One of the most unique freshest movie experience I've had, the comedy was great and the action was damn fun!
Can't wait to get my hands on the blu-ray, in fact I may have to go see it a second time!

But Sin City was dark, and it was able to capture it's own style.

Saw it last night,I must say that I was very impressed with it. One of the best movies I've seen this year! Great use of effects, not to mention an hilarious storyline. A must see for everyone out there.

True, but if they took a page from Scott Pilgrim and added visual sound effects, it would of looked strange.

I knoooooow, and it makes me very upset just thinking about that. Instead of watching a fun movie by Edgar Wright, the audience over here in the U.S. would rather watch a god-awful movie that already has "suck" in the title.

Haha, you're probably right, but it could have worked in a more subtle manner, perhaps.

I know. :( Hopefully it will do well when it is released on DVD. Guess you can't do well when you open on a weekend with other movies involving Silvester Stallone and Julia Roberts.

I saw the movie last week, and I enjoyed it pretty much. I had not read the books before, but the movie convinced me to read them in the near future.
At first, I did not know there would be that much video games references. That was a pleasant surprise.
I thought the movie felt a lot like No More Heroes. Was I the only one to have this feeling?

There was one scene I thought was reminiscent of No More Heroes, if that counts.

Yeah, talk about bad timing. But I'm still baffled (even though I shouldn't be) that it's losing to Vampires Suck.

Woah, now that's surprising! I am ashamed that today's kids will go and watch a dumb movie parody about an even dumber series instead of Scott Pilgrim. I'll make sure that my kids someday don't make that same mistake.

I was high when I saw it (big surprise) and it seemed normal. Then doors from nowhere and DBZ style fights and I was kicking my legs geeking out like a motherfucker. I fell in love with it. I'm seeing it again today.

It was awesome. The nerd in me loved it, probably something I'd buy if I saw it on DVD or blueray.

Great movie. It was an extremely fun, lovable movie. I may take some other people to see it not only to share it with them but as an excuse to see it multiple times, which I normally hate doing.
Also, I hadn't heard of Scott Pilgrim before this movie and after watching this movie and playing the game on 360 (which is great, by the way), I've become a fan and want to find the comics.

Yeah I wanna buy all the comics. The game was what got me to watch the movie too! Lol, I played it on the PSN.

The game is also fantastic. So many references to retro gaming.I totally agree with you. My boyfriend and I got the game and we beat it twice in one day, (to see both Kim and Scott's endings, which were both awesome). Now we gotta go back and try to see the others and get the rest of the achievements.
