Terrorists in Norway
0
So, a while ago a bomb detonated in Oslo, Norway and killed a bunch of people, as well as some people got shot to death by a guy disguised as a cop at the same time. Dunno if there's many ppl from Norway here, but just wanted to say that the hearts of your neighbour country of Sweden goes out to you.

Dun think so, heard something about some group connected to Al Quaida, but I think that was just speculations. Gawd I hope it's not islamists again -_-

Al Qaeda-linked terrorists quickly claimed responsibility for today's attack. Abu Suleiman al Nasser, who is described by the SITE Intelligence Group as a "prominent jihadist," claimed the attack and linked it to Norway's deployment of forces in Afghanistan. Nasser also said today's attack was related to the December 2010 suicide attack in Stockholm, Sweden, that killed one person.
"Norway was targeted today to be a lesson and an example to the other countries of Europe," Nasser said in a statement released on the al Qaeda-linked Shumukh al Islam forum, according to a translation provided by SITE. "Since the Stockholm invasion we had threatened more operations and we demanded that the countries of Europe withdraw their armies from the land of Afghanistan and stop their war on Islam and Muslims. We repeat our warning anew to the countries of Europe, and we say to them: carry out the demands of the mujahideen, because what you are seeing is merely the beginning, and what is coming is more."
Another jihadist, who is known as Amir Grozny, said today's attack was in retaliation for Norway's deployment of troops to Afghanistan.
"You have moments to get your soldiers out of the tomb of Khorasan, else you will see blood flow in the streets," Amir Grozny said in a post at the Shumukh al Islam forum, according to SITE.

I'm still reading about this from various sources....Some are saying it was just some Norwegian and not a Muslim.
I may be wrong though....You never know.
Edit.

So far we know or we're told that-
* Ethnically norwegian
* 32 years old
* Motive not figured out yet
* He's not known by the police
* 10 persons confirmed killed on the island (Utoeya), the police expect that this number will rise

Indeed. They can never seem to fight their enemies on their own, instead sending people to die and take as many innocents with them as possible. Some "enlightened leaders" indeed my ass.
That said, it's still not known if Islamists really did it. While they did took forward for the claim, let's remember that Al-Qaeda didn't have any high-profile successes recently while Osama Bin Laden was offed by the U.S. They may always be riding on someone else's work to gain spotligh, since it's not like Scandinavia didn't have it's own extremists.
But then again, Norway is a tempting target as of late...
In other news, Norwegian PM already made a speech which basically boils down to: "You can't intimidate us from being Norwegians".
BBC's recording of speech.
The main article.

Yeah now it seems that it's some idiot who was displeased with the goverment.
Apparently he was telling the confused kids on the island "It's ok, come here, I'm a police officer here to save you" and then executing them on point blank range.
Seriously...
Some other stuff:
- Undetonated explosives confirmed found at island
- 17 confirmed killed so far
- confirmed Norwegian
- rumored that there were several gunmen at the island

However, if some western state is the one behind it, in order to further their own agenda, then we'll be in a shitload of a more chaotic political world system.

Just an update:
We are now up in 91 dead on the island, more expected to be found as the day progresses.
The motives behind the attack has yet to be figured out, but is speculated to be extreme-right wing racism, and religious fundamentalism. The man have made several claims about being displeased with the way islam and other cultures is gaining more and more acceptance in the Norweigian society.
And that everything was done by just one guy, it has yet to be confirmed, but there are no other suspects, and the man claims to have done it all by himself.

About the shooter:
He has been arrested and is being questioned by the police. This is what I have been able to gather of info so far. Police are still considering the possibility that he did not act alone.
Name: Anders Behring Breivik
Age 32
Ethnic Norwegian
Considers himself a nationalist
Interviewed childhood friends says he turned extreme right wing towards the end of his 20s.
No earlier crimes and is unknown to the police
Considers himself conservative Christian
Started a company in 2009 called Geofarm and stated it would do farming. Using this company he got access to a lot of artifical fertilizers (means that this has been planned for some time)
Created a Twitter account 1 month ago and has only tweeted one tweet: «One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100 000 who have only interests»
Has been very active on online communities against "internationalism" (Document.no is one such site and has published all of his posts as a response to the events - norsk/english.)
Has strong opinions against immigrants, especially muslims
Is member of a pistol club and is a registered gun owner - has 2 registered guns
Lived most his life in Oslo (west side), but recently moved to Hedemark (further north)
Freemasonry member
Also.

lol.

Ah, well then, I guess you are the type of discriminating person that I'm trying to prevent from getting a stronger foothold in my country.
Anyway, 91 dead? Not to mention that they're youths =( Way too sad. Norway has always been a safe country with nothing like this happening since WW2. Something tells me that it will never be the same. Guess we can only wait and see what they figure out about the bombing as well.

Is so sad this kind of things keep happening in the world, the whole world is with Norway right now

[font=verdana][color=green]This event surely was a surprise, and our thoughts are currently with the family and friends of the victims.
But, in all actuality, I thought it would have been the work of Islamic extremists when I first heard about it on the BBC. Like has been said already, they do have troops in Afghanistan, as well as recently arresting some Islamic protesters. Certainly gives them motive.
The shooting was just terrible though; according to the BBC, the suspect led them all together in a group and then just opened fire. Some victims tried swimming away, but to no avail. Hopefully they can find all the bodies soon, as the families and friends of those missing need to have closure.
