Terrorists in Norway

I'll be interested to see what happens to the guys though. Norway dun have the death penalty, and the longest prison sentence is around 21 years I think, so that sucks. Though I'm thinking that he will want to stay locked up forever, cuz if the people heard he was getting out they'd be greeting him with a gun up his ass right outside the gate.[font=verdana][color=green]Two points:
1) I already said that. Pay attention.
2) They would never announce when he will be released. If you even think that they would, then you're treating the Norwegian judicial system as fools. Most likely, he will be relocated to another country, given a new identity, and given certain parameters to his release i.e. do not communicate with the victims families, do not go to Norway etc etc.

Say what? The only thing you've mentioned that I said in my post is that the maximum prison sentence is 21 years, and that was hardly the main point of the post.
Besides, I wasn't saying that they'd do a public announcement of his release. I said that it sucks that the sentence is so short, because I do not think he should be allowed out in the world ever again. I also just said that if the Norweigan people found out (in any way), it be better for himself to stay locked up.
Pay attention yourself, you idiot. It's not like I took any special care in reading just your post. Geez.

[font=verdana][color=green]I only quoted the part that was relevant.
It'd be better for him to stay locked up? Even if it were, the judges are still bound by the law, making that, as far as I know, impossible to do.
I don't know about you, but I actually read people's posts in a thread such as this. It prevents me from saying things that have already been said and it's respectful to the individual users who post.

I simply made a post stating my OPINION on the matter, nothing more, nothing less. I never said anything about what the judges should or can do. It was never about that, so why do you even bring it up?
And dude, why is it the whole world to you if I repeat that the maximum sentence in Norway is 21 years? "Pay attention"? The disrespectful one here is you. Since I am the one that made the thread I get like 10 notifications about new posts all the time, and I have other things to do than reading them all to the letter, especially a tl;dr post that had nothing to do with what I said.
Anyway, enough. Let the people that are not simply here to whine about nothing talk about what the thread is about.

Ive been reading about this for the past 2 days, He apparently said that he used Modern Warfare 2 as training before this horrific event, at least according to Kotaku

I feel for the families of the victims.

@Sam
Yeah, that was me.
And I also heard how much time they took to get there, since I originally assumed that not every police unit was dispatched to Oslo (since it makes sense to keep reserves of some sort in case of further attacks on the site or something). Although I did read somewhere that police units also couldn't find appropriate transportation, including their ant-terror unit lacking helicopters with effective airdrop capability.
If a person would be really quick...maybe he could do it, especially since he herded them in one place at beginning. But now some witnesses say there was other gunman, others don't; so in the end we may never know. The gunman himself claims he was alone, but that may always be the lie to cover for backup.
Now though, it seems he changed his opinion.
BBC article here.
Although he may be reffering to either people who helped him set it up, or back him up in shooting, or both. Only time will tell. Assuming it's truth of course.
I think he surrendered as soon as he saw police approaching. And police is not authorized to gun down surrendering suspects, no matter what they just did.

So, a while ago a bomb detonated in Oslo, Norway and killed a bunch of people, as well as some people got shot to death by a guy disguised as a cop at the same time. Dunno if there's many ppl from Norway here, but just wanted to say that the hearts of your neighbour country of Sweden goes out to you. You, and all Norwegians, will be delighted to hear that the hearts of America are with the killer.

I'm not norweigan, but that doesn't really matter. After eyeing through that article I can clearly state this; american politicians are fucking retarded. Unlike the US where ppl can not seperate politics from cow herding, some youths in this part of the world are actually interested in politics and attend those sorts of camps. I guess that is why we are considered the most democratic nations in the world, huh.

Prisons are very different in Nordic countries then rest of Europe or Stateside. Chances are he'll spend 30 years in extra-comfy hotel apartment.
Unless they change Norwegian constitution to give him life sentence or execute him like Quisling, but I doubt that.
