50% US Comic and 50% Manga, this how they fight in my thoughts. US comics really made me fantasize all my childhood dreams of becoming a hero, especially Marvel has my favorites. On the other hand, i read mangas about life and survival, to let me see the real harsh world that i called "HELL" well this world is hell...Hayate no gotoku and anything similiar to it is my fav.

i own considerably more manga, so i guess that. i like western comics though, but my interest in them is more selective i guess (really like Planetary and The Walking Dead), and with manga i dont have much specific interest in many titles but i read it alot more.

I wonder why comic was brought up in Fakku, the world of hentai manga... But still I prefer manga than comic probably because of its great artwork and the artist put their heart into it so the manga that we read till today will always have heartbreaking, sad, happy, cute moments. Manga are the best! Don't judge me :P

With manga there's one story line for the characters. In comics you have so many different stories for one character its hard to keep track of.

While I'll always prefer manga (ever since I picked up the first issue of Shonen Jump as a lad, manga has been my main source of entertainment), I can definitely enjoy US comics.
I think my only problem with comics compared to manga is that comics tend to focus more on a specific character, whereas manga tends to focus on an overarching story. As such, if you want to start a new manga series, all you do is find chapter one and read from there to the end. To start US comics, you have to find a good jumping in point (since starting at issue 1 is damn near impossible now-a-days), take into account all cross-over comics, search for any universe reboots--It's all just overly complex, making it harder for a newbie to really garner an interest in it.

I love Manga, only one creator per series and plenty of originalty, even if does get pretty crazy sometimes.

Well, the newspaper comics always will live on in my heart. Calvin and Hobbes, Bloom County and Farside will always be remembered, but they are gone because of the total lack of respect the newspapers had for the medium. They were continually forced into smaller and smaller squares. While the style of Farside was unharmed, the freedom of Calvin and Hobbes and Bloom County was trampled upon. I barely knew comic books but had no lack of respect for them.
But Manga is new to me, it has a good deal of growing respect, from drama to comedy as well as just the art and its style.
Right now as an adult, I would say Manga but my kid side says Comics.

Manga, never got into super heroes aside from the justice league. People would be surprised at how many hardcore manga fans prefer comics over Japanese manga.

Lol poll results are what I expected, wasn't even going to be close. Manga here. I like Comics but I prefer the art and stories presented in manga.

I'm not sure comics have such greats as deadpool, daredevil, and spider-man, while on the other hand are manga( i like to many to list) that are also awedome.
