WATCHMEN MOVIE

I saw the trailer of it when I went to see Dark Knight.
The actors for it seem pretty decent, I might go see it.

after the way other Alan Moore comics got butchered to make it to the big screen, I'm not gonna get my hopes up. I mean watchmen is a comic and is written to be just that. It was never made to be a film. They're gonna have to cut huges ammount out of the souce material

I'll just start off with this: Watchmen is one of the greatest pieces of fiction I have ever read, regardless of medium.
It's also what got me back into comics after Excel Saga and some other even worse mangas made me adverse to comics for a while.
I'd recommend to anyone who hasn't to read it before seeing the movie, or even if you don't plan on seeing the movie.
That being said, I'm excited and optimistic about the movie. The staff that were chosen were good choices, in my opinion, and Alan Moore even said that the screenplay was as close as one could get to adopting the graphic novel(which is unusually positive coming from him; of course, he still disavows the movie). Many of the scenes from the trailer even look like they cane straight out of pages from the graphic novel, which is a good thing to me.
Sure, there will be difficulties in adapting it and certain things will likely be cut(I heard Tales of the Black Freighter is being released separately), but nothing else to do except stay hopeful that it will be a movie worthy of the amazing material upon which it is based.

I just go back from seeing The Dark Knight and I saw the trailer. I am most definitively going to see it.

I've never read the comic, but I still want to see the movie. Looks pretty neat I have to say.
I read the wikpedia article on the series and I have to say I'm actually pretty interested in reading the comics. So I may have to acquire them somehow prior to the movie coming out.

It's sold as a single book now. Just check your local bookstore or order it online. I got mine from Borders at a mall.

i hope this gets the respect and treatment it deserves
i mean, 300 was 08/15 comic and a relatively great comic to cinema portation...
my fear is that since watchmen is a superior comic...the cinema portation will be mediocre and thus the whole film

Do not fret, we can trust Frank Miller.

Hopefully he knows that if he fucks up the Watchmen (which i might add is the most acclaimed comic series out there), thousands of nerds, geeks and otakus will want to cave his skull in.

It's Zack Snyder, not Frank Miller. Miller is off directing The Spirit.

omg this is going to be good!!
this was the best comic ive ever read!!
only problem i see is how are they going to fit such an awesome yet long comic into a 1-3 hour movie...
