If you're interested in becoming a Auto *technician* let me tell you that its actually a real rewarding career with many benefits. Depending on who you want to work for you get to travel the world. for example if you want to work for BMW they will send you to germany to study their program BMW STEP over there or if you want Japanese you go to Japan and so on.Also you can work where ever you want to in the world. With the knowledge of automotive technology, you never be replaced. you say you're also stuck between " auto mechanic and computer technician", guess what you will also be playing computer technician in this field. There are about 300 computers in one car on many late model vehicles and they all work and operate differently compared to each other and to your desk top computer. Electrical problems are where the big bucks roll in. I learned about car tech in high school and i'm still continung in trade school. you gotta have the passion to do this or you won't make it.

OT: The career i'm going to have is a automotive technician. and then i'm going for diesel technology. I want to go for Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari,or Maserati.(European cars FTW!). I'm in school right now. I'm on my 6th class already and i only need 5 more to go.God forbid i have no interuptions between me and December because that is when i finish.My last 2 months of school i hope to get a internship at Mercedes-Benz or Ferrari/Maserti, because if i don't i'll get stuck at a shop managment class and from what i see about it, its boring.I'm on track with this, i'm waiting on my tool set(It cost me close to 4,000USD) and around september or october i'm going to start on my resume.

When I first started college back in 03, I had plans of being a clinical psychologist. I lost interest at the last minute and change my major after transferring to an online school. So in the near future, I plan on being a computer programmer. In the meantime, I'm helping out my father's business. I'm gonna expand it by starting an online store. It shouldn't be too hard since I have experience running a website in college.

I'm studying at the University of Wisconsin - Madison to become a Nuclear Engineer, hopefully to get a job in the future for the DOE or to head to Russia or Japan and work there on reactors. Radiation is one of my most favorite subjects.
