I am a Mac OS X user (Tiger), on new(ish) iMac. I like that it has: little to no viruses, ease of use, a dedicated shareware community, pleasant customer service(Applecare), out of the box functionality, and general stability. I dislike having to dual boot to use a large amount of software and games (Boot Camp), lack of dvd-rom support, and the difficulty of transferring files between the two OS.I run OS 10.4 on my G5 iMac, and Leopard on my black intel macbook.

Nice, I would upgrade to 10.5, but it disabled applescript, and I must play the spiderweb games.

I'm using XP atm I switched to vistah before and I got a virus before even going on the internet so I had to reinstall my computer back to XP again and I'm to scared to use vistah again for at least 1 or 2 years.

OS X
like~less virus panic attacks, saving money, photo-graphics..
dislike~loosing files because after 3 months i still can't get used to mac as i've been using windows since age 7. Also gaming is a little more limited when compared to XP.

Gah, I feel like I should be coughing up blood a lung and maybe my spleen, because I use vista, not by choice mind you, that is what my computer came with.

I used to be a great fan of Windows, and winXp especially, until i caught a real bad virus, which no antivirus could detect or do anything, even worse, they deleted something in the os and it crashed badly, i couldn't even do a safe load... but the good part was that i had made a backup copy of all my files just a few hours before the problems started))) So i was free to decide on a new os, and decided to try linux, installed the latest ubuntu, and now i am asking myself why haven't i done it before!!!! Linux is just great, i love the free os!!!!

I am surprised that nearly twice as many people are using Mac OS X as compared to Linux. Please explain the reason for this insanity.

Haha your silly, useless, OS's folly in comparison to my OS. Behold Spoiler:
Heh ...
Spoiler:
On a more serious note, I use Windows XP (32-bit). Prior to getting my laptop, I had a desktop running Win98 for the longest time until it started to BSOD every five minutes. Then I got my laptop with XP, and then I installed XP on my desktop.

I use both Linux and Windows XP, in one computer, yes. No matter what kind of Anti-virus or Anti-spyware you got, no matter how good it is, in the end it's only reducing the threats, but they won't make them gone or totally disappear.
The kind of viruses which attack Linux is fairly few. So Linux is the best choice to download and browse. However again Windows is still needed since the best games (or programs) only created for them--- Mac OS also.
