Running a full scan right now. I hope I don't get that shit.
Me neither I already had my computer fixed once after being infected (just recently),I don't want to go another month of being off my computer.
So far so good I'm not detecting anything. What does the conficker virus show under as?

From what I've seen it might appear as something along the lines of either of these names
Win32/Conficker.B
TA08-297A
CVE-2008-4250
VU827267
Win32/Conficker.A
Mal/Conficker-A
Trojan.Win32.Agent.bccs
W32.Downadup.B
or as Confickr

Whew I'm not infected 'YET'
They also say that it restricts you from entering anti-virus websites to prevent you from destroying 'it'.

Conflicker presents a threat to computers that don't have anti virus and the windows on the computer has not been updated. If you have updated your windows since October when Microsoft released the patch that fixes the hole that conflicker gets through and have kept your anti virus up to date then you're fine. It's sad but something like 30% of computers do not have anti virus and do not keep there windows updated. The other way that conflicker can infect your PC is if you have used a USB drive off of an infected computer. Conflicker gets from the USB drive and onto your computer by using the auto run feature. My advice is to not be sharing any files or data with computers that you're not sure about.
On that note I am glad to say that conflicker is not in my computer.

I'm still kinda confused about the virus though. Lets say your computer does get infected, and its past 12, are we suppose to see something happen like pop-ups start popping up everywhere?

Hopefully I can stick this out...

Oddly enough, i just now heard of this. I already checked my PC and it seems that I'm not infected with anything yet. I was wondering if maybe disconnecting my computer from the net for a day could help me avoid this worm. After all, what better way to survive a plague than to get away from the infected right? If you are infected with the worm, you are currently at complete risk and you need to use all antivirus programmes you have access to immediately. Turning off your computer will not save your computer at all. Once you connect to the internet [if you have the worm] it will execute. Again, if you don't have it [you're not an idiot and download random stuff] then you are most likely not at risk.
Again, turning off your computer will do nothing if you are infected. If you have been travelling to trusted websites recently, then you'll probably be fine to continue. If you have been downloading torrents that don't work or random files from the net, you may be at risk.

OK, you guys heard what Hibia said, not connecting for a day won't save you.
I know I've never used Windows as my main OS, but from my experiences with it, the best way to get rid of worms has been a clean reinstall. Few viruses can survive that and I'm almost certain this worm can't. I think it's more efficient and reliable than using tons of antivirus software.

So, it's April 1st. Been so for a good couple of hours.
Since my computer's fine, can I assume that my computer wasn't infected? Or do I need to wait until April 2nd to be sure?
Also, avast gave me a little message saying that they were ready for the virus, but they didn't bother to say that they had scanned my computer and made sure I was safe. What the hell?
