This is all a bit of a moot point though. I seriously doubt anyone here would run for public office, the paper trail of this site would be a career killer. Haha Guess you don't know FPOD then.
Hello, I'm FPoD and Yes, Nashrakh is correct. I do have serious intentions in running for some level of office from city mayor to member of congress.

I'd have to agree with kgods though. It would be virtually impossible. They would dissect your personal life and every decision you've made since birth. :P

I still feel the need to try. I mean, have you seen the personal history of some senators? Two of them were accused of rape and they kept getting re-elected.
Edit: God! I wanted to take a shot at Barry-O. Fucking A!

Well you know. I didn't want to say what I meant. You'd feel bad. :P

Hardcore Constitutionalist Anti-Idiotarian.(editing, hopefully so as to not bump the thread with my blah-blah-ing)
Spoiler:
You are awesome.
I guess I would put myself on the conservative side for federal issues, but mixed in social affairs.

If we have a perfect world inhabited by perfect people then i'll say Anarchism.I also like Marxism, but since neither Communism nor Socialism worked out I think that the idea is just inapplicable to the real world as well.
For now democracy has been proven to be the most successful. I guess I'll go with that.

I'm studying politics - so I think a mix of consensusdemocracy and majoritariandemocracy would be the best...

[color=#2e1a6b]Your poll options refer to different things:
Anarchy and democracy pertain to the form of government (who rules and how they are elected)
socialism and libertarian pertains to how the government deals with property
And Liberal and conservative usually pertain to a vague set of principles.
I suggest re-doing this thread and poll, focusing specifically on 1 of the above sets of questions (because otherwise the topic would be too vague), and then explain why you hold your position in your opening post.
btw, what's the difference between socialism and communism? I keep forgeting

By pure democrat I mean those who will have the majority rule on everything and anarchists call for the end of society and total freedom these being different to all other beliefs I believe they deserve an area of their own. Also if I was too specific on conservatism and liberalism it would get all messy, basically conservative being centre right and liberalism smack bang in the middle.
Communism is just the extreme end of the left wing (not counting Pure Marxism for now) that believes in no private businesses, all public. Socialism allows some private property by the nationalising of major industries like healthcare, education ect.
There might have been a misunderstanding since I'm british and these are considered ideologies that cover ethical areas as well, like the Liberal Democrat party has liberal politics and there are anarchist organisations and such.

Government is something that I would never dabble into. My vote is useless and I have not known a person in a leadership position that has not disappointed or lied, I believe that any form of government is acceptable as long as it provides its citizens with "freedom" and services to "benefit" them.
As far as I care the world could be in total anarchy and one's neighbor could rip out your throat for their own gain. I've yet to discover a society and government system that appeals to me to the extent of becoming patriotic.
People blatantly point fingers at each other and live a world where we hold each other's hands with sweaty palms. So many "right" and "wrongs" that people force upon us, they're validity never to be known. Supporting a government would make me a supporter of their ideals, and I refuse to support any fragment of societal thought that exists inside of subjectivity.

That's not what a "democrat" is. Also I think your thread might have been merged with another one.
OT:

Using a scale like this, although simple, gets away from the pure left-right thing most people seem to be on board with.
I would say I'm somewhere at 11. Liberal democrat, or classic liberal.

Don't I have to be one? Can I just be nothing?I'm willing to bet that if you explained your opinions on certain issues we would be able to see a trend and categorize you based on those answers.
But no, you don't have to be "anything".

You can but I don't really like discussing politics with anyone because I can see how serious people get and how it ruins friendships and relationship even people who say they're "mature." So I just avoid the landmine all together because I care about myself and others to do so.
That's good to hear.

I can make a lot of assumptions about your character from that statement.
But either way you do have opinions on certain issues, unless of course you don't know much about a lot of issues and choose not to have opinions, which would be the most reasonable response.
