protest voteThis is my mistake, I had assumed protest vote was trowing a vote at a third party. I looked it up this time, I had no idea you could do this. Sorry for misunderstanding this much.
As for my opinion, I fail to see the difference in the message given, or at least from what I understand, most news shows are under the assumptions that those who won't vote already detest the system or elected individuals, this extends even to those known as "Undecided". Too me at least, it sounds like a means to consume time that changes nothing, yet it qualifies me to complain?
Edit: Though if I had known this sooner, I would have registered sooner. If I saw Obama, last week, sooner (made me want to try liking him again), or if I had seen whats up for voting on, in California, sooner I would have registered as well. Regretfully those are no longer options.
The difference is that when people choose to abstain from voting they are classified as "apathetic" towards the election, eg. they don't give a fuck, regardless of what their actual opinion are. If those who dislike the available candidates or the system go out and put that opinion on a piece of paper and send that shit in instead of sitting on their asses they'll have it on paper that these people are just not apathetic, they actively dislike the current system or the choices available. A protest vote like this doesn't count towards the final ballout but if enough people show disdain towards how shit is run, they can't ignore it. They can, however, ignore those who "ignore" them.

Third Party - Gary Johnson. A lot of people say it's throwing a vote away, but really I'm just praying for 5% because if he gets that the party will be recognized in the next election and they'll get federal funding and recognized in debates / media. To me that would be a real victory, but unfortunately it'll be quite a feat if he can manage to pull that off.

The electoral but not the popular. If he wins Florida & Ohio, then he wins both...probably.
Although most of those swing states are too close to call right now.

If I were registered probably Romney......You live in Texas. Any Republican would have won.
I was mainly concerned about the ballot issues for the state.

The media wants you to think this. People need to wake up and realize there are more than Mittens and Barry.

I voted for obama. I might be persuaded to vote republican if they could get a better candidate, but not this time. I definately would have if they'd had a better candidate
