And yeah, you actually need to have knowledge if you are going to declare yourself a certain way. If you don't have enough knowledge to know if you share beliefs with a certain structure, you shouldn't declare yourself that way.

You don't declare yourself an anime fan if you've hardly seen an episode of one. You declare it if you actually sit down and enjoy things about watching anime.

If you don't have enough knowledge and experience on something, you cannot say you are something.

Although your not completely wrong that doesn't mean that your completely right. A person born into a religion can't change his/her own belief until later on when he or she has a choice. Also claiming to be something does sometimes require some kind of proof or requirement. However that doesn't mean that everything is like that. A radical Muslim is still a Muslim in their own beliefs. Same goes for radical Christians.

Actually, a person isn't born into religion. A younger child has no real beliefs and will not form them for some time. You can be considered part of a religious community when you are younger, which is true. But you don't develop much religious sense until you're older.

And do you consider a Baptist to be the same as a Methodist? A Protestant to be the same as a Catholic?

There's a reason there are many branches and many different types of religious communities. Just because Westboro calls themselves 'Christians' doesn't mean that they are accepted by any other Christian community. They're their own separate little psycho community that doesn't share the same beliefs as others.

So no, you can't know what you are until you have experience and knowledge.

And double posting is against the rules regardless of circumstances. There have already been multiple warnings on it, especially here in Serious Discussion.

That itself isn't completely true. When I was younger I might not have such a strong sense of belief as I do now but any choices dealing with such were negated by my folks. I wasn't saying one was born with beliefs and opinions. I was just saying that to other people no matter what you personally think or feel will claim you to be what they want.



They are different sects because even though they are supposedly in the same church they don't have all the exact same beliefs. Like Yen and Zen Buddhism.

Knowing what you are and claiming what you are are two different things. I know you shouldn't claim to be something you don't know anything about. However that doesn't stop people from doing so. I knew a person who claimed to be bisexual even though he/she never once had a relationship with the same sex. I didn't consider that person to be that way but even though I feel and think that way doesn't mean its the morally right thing. It's disrespectful to that person to deny how they feel about that. I may have my own thoughts about the subject and will express my opinion when given the opportunity but that doesn't mean I have the right to make the other person bend to my will.

Are you seriously whining about things getting serious in Serious Discussion? Are you that unprepared for this forum? Discussion and Argumentation are the backbone of this forum. If you are that unwilling to participate in them then you need to reconsider posting anything in Serious Discussion.

Just like making wide biased judgements on the whole is also an narrow-minded stance to be making.

Stop instigating a fight. Just because this is SD doesn't mean you have to flame/ belittle/ debut/ and bully every single person that doesn't agree with you. There is no reason why a person can't be civilized with someone who they disagree with.

You took personal judgments and made a wide base on a majority of people.

You even went on to say that a Muslim who tries to spread things in a peaceful manner gets spit on and beaten.

And act like this is the majority mindset.

And then act like this is good proof to support statements your making.

It's not Religion that needs to improve. It's not like Religion makes most of the people who follow it into these monsters.

Read it again and then tell me is it biased... there are people who are extremely aggressive and wants to put their religion on the top of the food chain and there are alot of different muslims out there, not just the sunni the shejiten or the aleviten but much much more who don't share the same ideas and who believe in a different ideology that different from "Mohamed" (S.a.s).... so dont pick specific words from a sentence and try to make it a full statement....

Based on what I read 4, I made more but its been moved by Tegumi since some it's not related with SD but that was my mistake since I am still learning my way around the forum.

Continuing on. You are acting like it's Religion that is the problem. It is not. It's people that create the situations. Blaming one thing for the entirety of things is a very silly notion.

People are responsible for their own actions. Some people are just assholes who would be assholes regardless of circumstances.

And the same people that push religious beliefs on others are the same people that push other beliefs.

The problem is certain actions of certain people, not Religion.

But I did mention people being the problem.. im just stating religion because the same religions come from the ideal of humans and people try to push other by believing what they believe... which is why I came up with this poll
