Fate vs. Free Will

I'm a determinist when it comes to this because you know if there was one event then everything from the very 1st event must be a reaction to the prior event and as our universe is governed by certain laws so there can only be one state at one time. It just seems logical to me I would much prefer to believe in Free will so you know if you have an argument to prove free will please put it forward

Under absolute identical conditions, people/things will always do the same thing. You do "choose" things, it's just that you'll never not make the choice you made. If it's absolutely identical, there's nothing to affect you differently to make you do something different.
"Fate" is a word that implys something is making things go a certain way no matter what you do for some reason. I think the topic should be inevitability vs. free will or something.
Unless of course by free will you do just mean that nothing is forcing everyone/thing to go in a certain way, rather then you being able make different choices under identical conditions. In which case, fair enough.
