Haiti
Do You Care?
-2
Well I was wondering if anyone actually gives a crap. I do not actually care about it at all I see no reason in worrying about something that is bound to happen but, if you wanna send money to the Red Cross here is a link
Haiti Relief Fund.
Haiti Relief Fund.

If I had the extra money in my budget I might be persuaded to donate a small amount, but it were bound to happen at some point and it is far away from my daily life.
So.. NO, really do not give a crap.

I find it humorous that, at posting, No is winning 6-0.
Anyway, as RBZ said. Myself, Friends, and Family. If I had some spare silver, I might donate a bit just for the Karma points, but...
Well, you know.
Later: To add on to my post, I gave it some thought while making a Watermelon Cannon in Gmod, and thought:
"Wow, I live in New York. We have, like, A LOT more people then Haiti. In one city. With a major portion of the population usually located around large, domino-like buildings. A major Earthquake here would suck"
So, on that note. It coulda been worse, maybe?

My mom's side of the family is from Haiti, i have more reason to care than most of the people here on Fakku. I would donate, but i have no job
I will say that i'm generally for helping other country's out in times of need if possible. I'm not saying that other countries are more important, just that i don't see anything wrong with helping out a little. Also, i think part of the reason why the earthquake in haiti has gotten so much attention is because unfortunately the country doesn't really have a strong enough government to help themselves.

I think the whole thing is being blown out of proportion due to the fact it was the capital that was hit.
I am not trying to belittle whats going on there but it wouldn't be receiving as much attention if it was some other city.

^Then again: as many people would not have been screwed over by nature if it was some other city.
Normally, I wouldn't care. But for the moment I work with fundraising (Right now for MSI(Doctors Without Borders) and the more I hear about it the more I actually start to care. It's a sad thing that it happened, and even worse that, as Black Jesus said, there is no strong government to take care of the problem. So the people has to rely on the humanitarian organizations that are there. Apparently there is no electricity, and a shortage of food and clean water, and huge problems getting stuff to where they are needed.
Yes. I care, more than I normally would.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
No.
I sometimes wonder if I'm just morbid, or maybe a bad person. But I've yet to care about stuff like this. Don't get me wrong, had it happened somewhere near me, I'd do my best to help. But I ain't gonna send money to some place I've never been.

I feel the same way except I don't doubt myself. Fuck people who are in 3rd world countries.

To be completely honest i'm not gonna pretend to care about something i actually don't truly care about.

You are wasting money if you give it to the Red Cross.
You may be giving money to the Haiti Relief Fund but what yer' money is actually being used for is the many offices Red Cross has set up.
You shouldn't donate money to the Red Cross, they use it poorly.

Also, Haiti has had a tough time, and most of it isn't there fault. For example, when haiti was first founded, no one would trade with them because it was founded by slaves. Its hard to build a strong country that can take care of itself when no one is willing to trade with you.

When I walked into the break room at work it was on CNN and there was a (non scientific poll) online that said 58% people who voted online said they weren't going to donate. I think people are in situations right now where they don't really care about others, because they have to worry about their own welfare first.

Ever since the economy went down the drain, people have been saving and spending money like Uncle Scrooge, let alone DONATE money.

To be honest, I care very little to nothing at all for anything that happens to humanity. I care more about things that happen to animals than humans. I do feel bad for them, but I don't plan on doing anything else other than that. If someone is standing in front of a mall and asks me to donate some money, I would probably donate $10 or something, but beyond that, I could care less.

Are they planting tobacco in haiti? I would give a fuck if my supply of smoke gets fucked.
As a human, I do sympathize, but as myself, not much. Where the hell is Haiti anyway?

OK, pardon my language, but WHAT the FUCK, guys? These are human beings you're talking about! Who gives a crap if they live in Haiti or any other country that isn't the great nation of Your Little World? The fact still remains that these are people no different from your mom or Jacob. You don't have to donate if you don't want to, but don't discard these people just because you don't know them. I'm pretty sure if your house was suddenly swallowed by a fissure in the ground, you'd want some help too.
tl;dr Haitians are people too.

It's on the island of Hispanola, about five to six hundred miles off the coast of Florida.

I care very much. I care about the suffering of human beings.
Might I recommend a therapist?
