There's always a reason. at first sight you can't love or hate someone, you may like him/her or dislike him/her, bacause of how he/she looks, cause reminds yo of something, someone. Also you love your family cause that's what you're taught, for example if you brother is a prick you'll end up hating him, it won't matter he's your brother.

In general if i hate someone its because they hate me or they look like someone who could hate me. if you look like a skin head or your waving the confederate flag around i don't like you. Hate will always have a reason weather its because the person looks like some one who did you wrong. It may not be instantly apparent but there are reasons.

As far as i've noticed, hate always has reasons, regardless of whether you know it or not, it has a reason.
If you say you dunno, there is a reason but you just can't think of it.
Love is the same, except little kids (12 year olds up to 16 year olds) mistake lust for love. They see some hot person and think they love them. Which i'm assuming is why the age of marriage is 18.

Like some have said, every feeling needs a reason. Love and hate are no exceptions. Love at first sight has reasons as well, namely, appearance; reasons that are, literally, skin-deep. Ignorance also has a bit of a role here, too. Even more so. You never hate someone for no reason.

I'd argue the point that both hate and love need reason- even if we do not realise them.
Think about it carefully, and the reasons should become apparent. Even if they're just little, seemingly meaningless things.

I believe hate is one of the strongest emotions one person can have, it can become even stronger than love, as it can keep you motivated in doing unnecessary (or even forbidden) things that could harm you and the one that feeling is directed to - of course this is not unusual for love as well, but should be an exception.
Therefore I don't believe that you can have a strong emotion as (real) hate without any reason. You could be turned off or you could simply dislike somebody, but hate definitely takes more than that.

I would say no becuase ever if you are just meeting some you have never know there are thing that can make you hate them. some time just the way people hold them self is a reason why. there is also the idea of there energy there give off differ energy afeft people differ. some people call it the wave ever one is on. under this idea we are all on differ wave and the people that work with you are on the same or close wave but the people you hate are on a way differ wave. The idea gose ever forward to say that this wave well after people differ some will get sick so some waves and the same will make differ people hreatly so. idk there is alot of idea out there on this.

Hatred needs a reason in my opinion. Though some people might hate others because they have bad experiences with people similar to him in some way. But hatred comes somewhere. It doesn't just come to you by seeing the person for the first time. When one thinks "That person, I hate him" the first time you meet him, that is because there is something with his looks that is not acceptable for your mind.

The poll answers confused me and I ended up choosing the wrong one. I wanted to vote for hate not needing a reason. It's as Nitzlplix said: 'People don't need reasons to hate. But there is almost always a reason for it.' You don't need to explain yourself to anyone if you don't want to.

Well I think there doesn't have to be a reason that you dislike someone(or feel uncomfortable around), but to feel full hatred of a person they would have to have done something that you obviously disapprove of and that creates a reason.

Hatred without a reason would be just senseless anger. While it may be true that love doesn't need a reason, you NEED something (even the most irrational thing) to be driven to hate someone.

Hate is not necessarily justified by a reason, but it always has a reason. Most likely, anyone who claims to hate with no reason is unable to identify the reason, but the reason still exists. Probably the most overlooked reason for hate is having a prejudice against an attribute of the person. These attributes can range from race, gender, apparel, age, and voice. These attributes don't justify hate, but they are commonly the starting point for disliking someone. obviously, their actual behavior causes hate too. When their behavior causes hate, it's very easy to identify the reason.
I am not sure if love requires a reason or not, but I don't think the answer affects whether or not hatred requires a reason. Similar to hatred, I think love can be caused by a combination their attributes and behavior.

I dealt with a lot of people who just let their hate run wild. People never really need a reason to hate, they just make one up later. Most times, people say that they hate people who did something to them, but most times, anger is unprovoked. It's tough to believe, but people tend to hate others for no reason, and it ruins a lot of things for us. It's a sucky world we live in.

There are a lot of people I dislike, but only a few people that I hate. The only reason why I would hate anyone is if they have wronged me in some extremely severe way as well as having negative traits that I look down on that caused them to wrong me. Ex, extreme laziness and hypocracy which resulted in jealousy against me who does things better than the subject.
