Makes me want to walk around my living room naked... And I have huge windows in my living room facing the road.
...sadly I live about 10 minutes away from town...
Either way, that's ridiculous and the fact he even has to waste his time for that is stupid. Let alone worry about the judge being retarded and going along with it.

Sorry guys, but this is just another proof of The UStupidity. Seriously, this can't happen anywhere else, could it?If I was in his situation, I would sue that bitch for invading my privacy.
And there is probably only in the US that you can sue someone for something like that as well.
But yea, even though I don't walk around naked at home myself, since I feel uncomfortable if I do, I think that it is stupid to arrest someone for being nude in his own home.

Not necessarily. Some homes are built very close to sidewalks and/or streets depending on individual zoning laws. My house is only about 20 feet away from the sidewalk, if I had my blinds open and was walking around naked someone from the sidewalk could potentially see pretty well, especially if it was dark outside.
Unless it's darker inside the house than outside yes, cause if it is the windows will reflect the light outside more clearly and it will be hard to see inside from a distance.

Interesting thing, if you're an exhibitionist around my area, all you have to do is register with the local borough and get a license to be nude at all times.
However I doubt this will go far. He'll have his family attesting to the fact that he's a good person, and the lady will be hated for being a bitch around town for quite awhile.
Fuck I remember when I was 11 my stepdad took me out on his boat and let me ride in a tube behind the boat. As we passed by a large camp, we found out that they were all nudists...one of them had to be 60...anyhow we didn't call the police, we didn't even care. I rubbed my eyes a bit and my stepdad laughed his ass off. THAT is what Americans should do.

He should've said "KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, PERVERT!!!" then closed the blinds.lmao nice idea.
I think he will sue her for looking into his house and invading privacy. He could sue HER for sexual harassment, though male suing female never seem to win those cases

Harm done to the child?, i really wanna hear the kid's side of this I think its just the mother's paranoid mind thinking that.

That's really messed up.
Maybe if the woman wasn't sticking her nose into others personal business they wouldn't of had that problem.
Registering him as a sex offender? Ugh.
That's one of the reasons I hate the patio door in our bedroom. The cats like sitting at it and it opens up the blinds. Last thing I need is kids to be running by and seeing myself naked, or worse - while I'm having, uh, one on one time with Fpod.

So, from what I understand, mother and son trespass across guy's yard and see him while trespassing.
Plus the cops are on her side because her hubby's in the area's force.
Yeah, there's no credibility with cops and the justice system.

I don't think there is any disagreement to this that this is very ridiculous, ridongculous, ricockulous.
The woman shouldn't have pointed out that the man was naked. Isn't that spying if you look into someone else's house. Besides, it's too dark at 5:30 to see anything much less a naked man making coffee.
But what is more American than suing someone who did nothing to you?

Although I feel sorry for the accused if he is genuinely innocent, I can't help but feel that such articles tend to leave certain details out, perhaps in the favour of either party.
Like some of you mentioned, there were no details on why the mother and son were out early in the morning, nor the track record of the man.

Great point. It's often impossible to get both sides of the story through any type of news system... which is annoying. Makes it too easy to be mislead.
However, if this man was just standing naked in his kitchen making coffee... I say bravo.
Besides, there would not even be a problem if nudity was not so frowned upon in the US(I think this was in the US?).
Therefor, we should sue the mother for withholding information from her son which would have prevented this traumatizing event. Who's with me?!

Like was explained at the source, the woman's husband is a cop. So naturally, they're going to bend and break the rules and omit stuff to put the guy away.

Sadly The world seems to be spiraling Deeper into stupidity as time goes on. :)
One Question i have for the lady's son who saw the man Naked is: WTF where you doing looking into his house in the first place. I mean think about it, When you walk down the streets you normally don't peer into someones window...And even if you did it would take you a while to see anything thats going on in a house if you only took a "quick" glance, Which means he must have been staring in his window for a long time....
he is just a peeping pervert who saw more than he asked for...hoping to see a lady, but saw a man instead...

^ an update by the washington post.
So far here are the facts:
-According to Eric he was naked and went down stairs around 5:30 am drinking coffee
-Friends say that he might of been drunk since he was drinking the Sunday night before
- The woman and her son cut through his backyard, not using the public sidewalk in order to walk to school.
- According to the woman it happened around 8:30 am and it happened twice.
- The woman is a wife to a local police officer
- In front of the house is a cross way that children use in order to get to school.
In order for Eric to be guilty the public prosecutor has prove he did it on purpose knowing people are watching.
It's too late now, his reputation will be tarnished whether he is guilty or not.
