Police Bashing

I've never hard any real issue with cops. The most annoying one I've really encountered was one who gave me a ticket for lack of insurance even though I had perfectly acceptable proof of my insurance but it just wasn't the cards.
I got it dropped easily by simply going into the court so meh.
But there is also the fact that a lot of bad cops are not held accountable for their actions simply because they are cops. There are a lot more corrupt cops than should be acceptable (well none should be acceptable but it's impossible to get them all out.) And part of the reason for this is lack of real consequences for actions. It can take some real effort to actually get a cop to take the heat for their wrong-doings and even if you do succeed, most of the time it's at a lesser punishment when compared to the average person committing the same offense.
And too often there are people who just do not handle situations well that a cop should be more than adequately ready for, the occupy movement being a shining example of way too many officers who just were unable to handle the situation properly.

The reason why so many people hate the police is because they are an easy target. It is their job to enforce the law, even if some laws are complete bullshit. Even if they know the laws they're enforcing are unjust, in the hierarchy of social structure, they're in a situation where their livelihood is dependent on whether they fall in line. I've had my issues with cops in the past, but I understand that they are subject to the whim of people with insane amounts of power.
My biggest problem with the police is that some of them let the small amount of power they have go to their heads. I've had run-ins with out of control cops. One time, I bought some heroin in the projects and got caught by the cops. There were a couple people that said something like, "hey officer, if you want, you can let them go and we'll fuck him up," and he hinted at the notion that he wasn't opposed to it. I had an mp3 player on me, so I showed it to him and told him that I recorded everything. To make a long story short, I got to keep my heroin and got a ride halfway home.

I was once friends with a cop who later turned out to have repeatedly sodomized a 15-year-old girl. Yeah, some of them suck, a statement that can be applied to any sample group of people.
The issue with "police bashing" results from the general public holding a higher moral standard over the heads of police officers because the police are supposed to be a moral authority.

That's what I was thinking but didn't want to ask.

I dislike a lot of the laws that have been passed, so naturally I dislike the people who are supposed to uphold the laws that I dislike. what is it, the friend of my enemy is most definitely my enemy.

For me I find most police don't go through with charging any one. It can be positive like police ignoring drug use and possession, but they fail to charge people that are harassing and vandalizing like chavs that do it often. Some one once broke into the house attacked 2 children and 1 adult the police luckily came to the house for a different reason and witnessed it them selves. We where told they had enough evidence to charge them by a lawyer the police dropped the charges and said they weren't going to follow it through the lawyer said they must of made some deal for information.

The cops in the USA are fucking scaring the ever living be-jesus out of me. Why? Because cops are not supposed to have this much authority to use violence on a whim and deprive people of their rights as long as they can spout enough BS to justify it.
...and things have gotten ever worse. Nowadays they act more like enforcers for the "Big Grand Order" (i.e. how things are MEANT TO BE), rather than keepers of peace. No, life didn't get more dangerous... they did.
Case in point:
http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=cop-soldier
Best advice concerning the police: Don't Talk to the Police
More good advice:
Bottom line: As long as the police are more concerned with busting whomever they can instead helping out I'll be wary of them.

Disliking cops for what they stand for seems pretty logical to me.

Really, I think it's terrible that people take so much advantage over the delicate issue of "police brutality". It's ridiculous that a criminal could say: "I shot three babies but that policeman hurt my wrists by putting the cuffs on too tight.", and have something done about it. It's a major flaw that needs to be fixed.

Police shouldn't be bashed if they aren't doing anything illegal. They work to provide food and shelter to their self and their family and unlike most jobs - they tend to contribute to the order of civilization by working.

No disliking cops for doing their job is an idiotic thing me when you don't know who they are or what they stand for. To me you just sound like some underage kid.

I dislike someone who cares strongly enough for something to dedicate all the time to get trained, graduate, and go through the whole probational phase to be a cop. Being a cop is not simply a job, it is a life decision, and I disagree with it.
And of course there are all the valid reasons that came before me. And of course, theoretically speaking, if I'm not doing anything wrong, I shouldn't even worry about them. But it's a lie. I have been in cuffs because of what someone else THOUGHT I was thinking about doing. Fuck that. Laws are overstepping there boundaries more and more, and while I don't care enough to do anything about it, I don't have to like it or those who uphold it.
My disdain is not some teenage rebellion phase, but rather a grudging acceptance of the necessary. Also, by wearing a uniform and badge they are choosing to stand for the law. Thus I can disagree with what they stand for.

Do you hate doctors because they dedicate their life to become a doctor. Your reasoning for hating someone because they dedicate themselves for their job is idiotic. You still sound like some immature kid who hates cops because they had to arrest you because someone probably thought you looked suspicious.

You've completely missed the point at least twice now. I do not dislike their dedication, but what they are dedicated to. They serve the law, the law is flawed in so many ways, so I dislike them. To simplify even further: I hate many articles of the law....(still following my train of thought?) so I dislike those who uphold it. It makes perfect sense.
Also I'll say it one more time. I don't really care about someone's dedication one way or another, UNTIL you chose to dedicate yourself to something I truly despise.

It's ridiculous a cop can break a teenagers arm for failing to be submissive enough and get away with it on the grounds that "there are dangerous criminals out there who shoot babies".
These are incidents all caught on camera... yet the overwhelming majority of the "officers" involved were never prosecuted.
The police is out of control. I don't hate them for giving out tickets, doing searches or pat-downs. I hate them for arbitrarily interpreting the law and doing as they please rather than doing as they should, mandated by the law.

Instead of disliking people who you don't know and some who actually try to change or fix the community, hate the corrupt Politicians who create the laws you despise.

Well, to be honest there are good cops and there are bad cops. The good cops join to help protect others.
Bad cops usually are either
1. join cause they want to abuse their power and are power hungry
2. good cops that gone bad because of something in their lives or it went to their head.
In america in general where its all about power, alot are probably bad cops, but some of them are good cops just ex-military which may make them have different SOP and therefore react differently in different scenarios.

It's not a different SOP. It's an outrage. A man who's basic instinct or ingrained training is to immediately use violence whenever in a confrontation should never be allowed to be part of a police force.
For some reason in Europe homicide rates are a lot lower... maybe the fact that the police are not so quick to gun you down might have a lot to do with that.
