Well, to be honest there are good cops and there are bad cops. The good cops join to help protect others. Bad cops usually are either
1. join cause they want to abuse their power and are power hungry
2. good cops that gone bad because of something in their lives or it went to their head.
In america in general where its all about power, alot are probably bad cops, but some of them are good cops just ex-military which may make them have different SOP and therefore react differently in different scenarios.
There aren't as many bad cops as you think. Most cops are good cops. There are a few bad cops that ruin it for everyone else.
PS. This fat porn Ad is really disturbing.

I dislike someone who cares strongly enough for something to dedicate all the time to get trained, graduate, and go through the whole probational phase to be a cop. Being a cop is not simply a job, it is a life decision, and I disagree with it.Do you hate doctors because they dedicate their life to become a doctor. Your reasoning for hating someone because they dedicate themselves for their job is idiotic. You still sound like some immature kid who hates cops because they had to arrest you because someone probably thought you looked suspicious.
You've completely missed the point at least twice now. I do not dislike their dedication, but what they are dedicated to. They serve the law, the law is flawed in so many ways, so I dislike them. To simplify even further: I hate many articles of the law....(still following my train of thought?) so I dislike those who uphold it. It makes perfect sense.
Also I'll say it one more time. I don't really care about someone's dedication one way or another, UNTIL you chose to dedicate yourself to something I truly despise.
Instead of disliking people who you don't know and some who actually try to change or fix the community, hate the corrupt Politicians who create the laws you despise.
I don't have much respect for cops for similar reasons. I think it's fair enough to assess someone differently because they work as a cop because either they enforce the laws irrespective of their own ethics or they are not going to perform their job very well. I don't feel very inclined to trust people who choose, against other options, to get theirs by exercising power over others. I don't think anyone is in a situation where being a cop is their only option in life unless they've spent most of their life as a cop already. When they've gone that far, some cops cultivate a nice "Us and Them" thing and at that point they're their own tribe. When push comes to shove, they're out for themselves before you, and in truth any relatively large department is probably helmed by people who spend more time thinking about the welfare of the department than anything else. The point for the police that they do work is pretty off. Police departments are managerial institutions and they play politics to provide for themselves and that guides the way they operate. They don't produce anything, but if you talk to them wrong, you can wind up owing them a lot of produce. Cops are sketchy at worst and untrustworthy at best. If you haven't heard of it before the Stanford prison experiment can tell you all you need to know about people and uniforms: [click]

this bugs the heck outta me too, always here people calling em pigs and stuff, but the second they get robbed they run for the police like they're best friends. I hate that.

Prob because we have never really been exposed to the great things police do. Every time we turn on the T.V. its about the negative things they did. Ive never even seen on the news a story were a police officer did some incredible things. I know it happens, but do we hear about it? NO!

NO!Apparently I heard that people tend to react more greatly to negative things than positive things. I wouldn't be surprised if the media used it for more ratings/views.
Back on topic, If someone was the target of a police brutality, they'd probably treat the Police as an enemy of some sort as a result. My friend had been rather 'less than friendly' with cops after he's father had been wrongly accused of fraud. He told me that he couldn't trust cops because they could fuck up and accuse the wrong person, even though they aren't all the same cops.
As for me, I don't really hate the police. I mean someone's gotta uphold and enforce the law, and there are bound to be corrupt police and other authority related personnels due to the amount of power they have been given from the government.

Cops pull over someone near my apartment almost every night. Its quite obvious they're desperate for money. I've been in trouble with the law last summer, but luckily they weren't crooked and were quite understanding in regard to my condition (still had to pay a fine though U_U). I don't like or hate cops since I'm aware that they are just humans trying to make a living the best way they know how. All I can say is that with power comes responsibility, it can be used justly or abused. It all depends on the individual.
