Pulling the Trigger..Could You Do It ?
0
The only reason I would pull the trigger would be to save someone and/or saving myself. But I could live with saving someone then killing someone to save myself.

I would pull the trigger if the consequence would be greater had I not; however, I don’t like the idea of using guns as a form of defense or anything else.

i know i oculd pull the trigger. Now don't get me wrong i ain't trying to be a douche or anything it's just well.... if i see my self holding agun and aiming at someone who has no right to live such as raping someone, tkaing life away for no justified reason, or is just plain psycho (they don't care if they kill people) i will do it. i don't know the psychological toll on myself though.

I may be joining this a little late but I feel that I should give my two cents. I have always been raised with a cold shoulder and feel no emotional attachment to anything in the world. I know that this may be a little far fetched but I believe that I could pull the trigger without blinking. I wouldn't even think about it the next day. I don't feel remorse or sadness and I think that I could do it faster and colder than anyone in the world could. I'm a heartless bastard, deal with it.

[size=14]Now, I know this isn't at all the same, but I personally get a rush when I feel a gun in my hands and I pull the trigger. However, I have only ever shot at targets and bottles and cans. I consider myself a peace monger, and I don't think I could ever pull the trigger while aiming at another human being. I believe that somehow it is possible to talk one's way out of any hostile situation. [/h]

well when you are facing the Hollywood Paradox "its me or him/her", then you will know if you could do it, as for myself i think i could do it without a hesitation but i think i will live with a big burden for the rest of my life

absolutely no question. Guns are meant to kill, and people were the original intended targets. If you have a gun, you should be prepared to kill with it.

Out of complete honesty i don't fear death and so i believe if my time came, sure i'd be unhappy but i would accept it. I'd gladly take a bullet for someone dear to me and i think if it came down to it i would pull the trigger to protect them.

No, I couldn't because I would've already sliced them up with my knife/machete/kerambit/etc. In all seriousness, I'm going into the military and I take Filipino Martial Arts. Whether I like it or not, at the end of the day, I'm trained to kill, whether it be for something moral or immoral. Granted, I'd rather not, but as it is, I can do it. Then again, I never said my shots had to be fatal.

Not to doubt you or anything, but I question why you have no doubt in your mind. Are you trained to use a gun? Have you pulled the trigger on something that wasn't a human being? To be fair, I haven't. I am trained on how to hold a firearm and even the various ways to slice someone up and beat them to death, but as it stands I have yet to do so. However, because of my training, I understand the responsibilities of doing these actions in the first place. In all honesty, I would probably do this on the battlefield or, while I doubt it will happen like this, on the streets if my life is in potential danger. I usually carry non-lethal, but effective, weapons, such as a pair of kubatons, a trainer kerambit, and an expandable baton for sever cases.

damn, that's hard to say. Since I'm a selfish guy, i assume that i'll pull the trigger.
I hope that i'll never be in that situation though.

Since I always believe that it's better them, than me, I'll be able to pull it with no regrets or whatsoever. Since I already got a history of violent encounters (I stabbed a mugger in the forearm.) I doubt that I'll have second thoughts in shooting someone.

It seems that now, we're getting on certain technicalities. While it might be hard to pull the trigger, it might not be so bad if you can maim instead of kill. Shooting someone in the leg or even an arm is a lot less weight on the conscience than the head or chest.

I would have see benefit for me. If someone what holding a knife against me then pulling the trigger would constitute a beneficial action to me (them not killing me). Morally I do not really have a problem doing it so I guess that if I was guarantied no punishment for doing it then it would not take much for me to pull it.

I wouldn't kill someone if didn't need to. If I had the choice I would blow their kneecaps and elbows first, but if my family was in danger I would pull it without hesitation. But I'm a wanna be pacifist. Oh and I don't clap or welcome home soldiers because in reality their murderers, but I have sympathy for them 'cause their only 18 and 19 years old.

The situation obviously would be the main factor
For example you know without a doubt a person is a repeat drunk driver with multiple DUI who killed your child or love one in a car accident
Then yes I'd shoot the person in question dead!
