Pulling the Trigger..Could You Do It ?
-1
Hmm, a situation that justifies taking another persons life. Intriguing. I "Can" shoot at someone else but would prefer not to because the immense pain that I would put someone else through is unfathomable to me.
I don't see whats so hard about pulling a trigger? Sorry about that but really, the question you ask is extremely vague. You don't say anything about shooting someone else or even killing someone. Just pulling the trigger...

I wouldn't kill someone if didn't need to. If I had the choice I would blow their kneecaps and elbows first, but if my family was in danger I would pull it without hesitation. But I'm a wanna be pacifist. Oh and I don't clap or welcome home soldiers because in reality their murderers, but I have sympathy for them 'cause their only 18 and 19 years old. Thanks a lot. [/sarcasm] Honestly, not all soldiers are murderers. Hell, a good chunk of officers in the military hardly see action past all the paperwork they'll be doing. Most likely, once I commission, I'll be stuck doing bullshit paperwork more than I will killing people if even that. I might end up doing UAS, Unmanned Aerial Surveillance, since it seems to need more people.

And don't get me wrong I know some are in the military that don't want to shoot a rifle. I'm planning to be in the military to pay for college, and I don't want to be congratulated for doing it. Oh and I'm planning to be in the Navy.

Interesting. On another note, I know this distracts a bit from the topic, but I would like to say that going National Guard into Army ROTC seems to be extremely beneficial. After 15+ weeks of Basic Training, which pays 5 grand, there's tuition waiver, loan repayment, and upwards of 1 grand a month, not to mention access to military benefits, such as USAA. I was talking to someone who had 5 accidents and two tickets...and he's only paying 100 bucks.
In any case, my parents did not seem to mind National Guard, mainly since they are viewed as "weekend warriors" on the home front and disaster relief, although the truth is that they too get sent over...

It depends actually, depends whether I believe the world turned to shit or if ever the life I could say is my own becomes boring as hell since I believe endless boredom is worse than dying.

As an ex-military man , a question I hear a bit (and despise getting actually) is "How can you pull the trigger ???" ...Now maybe I just hang out with a few liberal sissies but whatever. I just want to know how many people on Fakku actually BELIEVE they can pull that trigger if they had to ,and what kind of situation it would take for them to do it.I would pull the trigger whenever necessary, but i wont be stupid enough to use it to kill myself.

Easily. Obviously pulling the trigger should be the end all final solution to a problem, but if it actually came down to it I would easily pull the trigger.
Situations aside, I'm the tpye who lives on with and accepts the responsibility of my actions. If I killed a man, who despite the circumstances was a good, decent human being with perhaps a family of his own, then I as his killer would bear the responsibility of caring for and protecting the people who were important to him. The act of killing can only be performed by those who are prepared to be killed.

I don't know if I'd have the heart to. It'd be ending another human being life. Someone who even if they are a bad person, might have a family or people that care about him/her. I think shooting them to slow them down such as, shooting the hand that has a weapon or legs is the best option (for someone like me). I wouldn't feel right to put killing as my first option. I'd rather it be my last until it's a 'kill or be killed' type of situation.

To execute or on self-defense sure thing. Its been a while since I stop caring for others after watching the people around me :)

Circumstance: Family, friend or self is in danger of being killed.
Survival: Only by firing the weapon.
If both these conditions are met, I will not hesitate to pull the trigger although my priority would be not to kill the person but rather to temporarily disable them allowing me to deal with them safely.
I don't believe in any human being having the right to end another's life although I do understand the circumstances where it's either them or you in which case you do what you need to do to survive.

However, since most shoot themselves through the temples, they merely destroy their frontal lobe, leaving them essentially trapped in their own body. The proper way is to take out the medulla, since that controls circulation and respiration.
In a more serious note, going through with such a deed is extremely life-changing. It's always the first kill that gets to soldiers on the battlefield and after too many, it's very common for soldiers to go through shell shock. The best example would have to be Vietnam veterans.

[size=12]I'd rather jump in front of a bullet for someone else than pull the trigger, ending a man's life would be hard for me...
[b] both he and I would have to be in the right mindset (him in the mindset of a killer and I in that of a hero).[/h]

Well d'uh..In that situation, what would you rather do?die or let them be killed?

Well better to die trying than to not have tried at all. Only cowards don't take risks in life.
You shouldn't imagine your outcome of failure when you haven't even been in such a situation.
