SOPA is a corporate-sponsored bill, for corporate profits and to save political power for our de-facto political parties. SOPA+ the National Defense Authorization Act=Political and Corporate Power Grab on levels never before seen in America.

They won't get away with it because if they do the majority of people will speak up, this bullshit will stop and I doubt people are gonna stand by and be told how to live there life by hypocritical politicians who are so full of selfishness and ignorance that they'll say or do anything for money, even if it means selling out they're own country's rights just to retain power.

The only ones wanting to push this through are companies in the music industry, a corrupt government trying to get more power, and those who aren't aware of what SOPA actually stands for and just think it sounds like a good idea due to not looking up the facts.

This bill won't benefit anyone and will harshly penalise pretty much anyone who uses the internet.. Pretty much anyone who has been on the internet will have a criminal record for minor offences, like linking to copyrighted material. Where's the justice in that?

Everyone else, if you haven't registered to vote, do it, then call, email, hell fucking picket and march on DC if you have to. Join a PAC against this, donate what you can spare, and lobby against it. Believe it or not, Fakku may actually be able to function as a makeshift PAC, and unlike other websites that rely on anonymity, we have a finite number of members. Instead of fapping tonight, register to vote and make a call, the fapping can wait.

I don't think people understand that the internet WILL BE CONTROLLED if this passes, yet everyone, like with everything don't want to make it their problem. A lot of people are saying that it won't get passed because it sounds ridiculous, and it is ridiculous but the thing is, the users that SOPA will mostly effect (Aside from big websites like youtube or facebook) are kids spanning from junior-High to college, kids who use these sites and download these songs more than anyone.

And the two main problems i'm seeing are pretty much either, 1: They don't even know about SOPA because let's face it what majority of teens and young adults actually spend time looking at national or even world news. And 2: Again they don't want to get involved for whatever reason they could possibly come up with.

I don't mean to sound like every negative person or conspiracy theorist, but this country is slowly falling and it really is mostly do to corporations,(Among obvious other things) and the USA is going to have a large scale rebellion 10x that of Occupy Wall street, and with the brutality we have here in America you know a lot of people will die from it.

And for people who haven't yet realized, ANIME AND MANGA STREAMED ONLINE ARE ILLEGAL, IF SOPA GETS PASSED SAY BYE BYE TO ALL YOUR FAVORITE SHOWS AND SAY HELLO TO SPENDING CASH ON DVDS.

Really these people are so retareded not looking at facts like this, Sopa is stupid and really does need to be brought to an end!

Ever heard of the adage "When you assume you make an ASS out of U and ME" ? Do I own proportionally the same amount of anime that I have viewed and/or downloaded. No, I won't lie and say that is the truth. But I do own quite a few titles. I'm one of those on Fakku who agrees that if the anime is really good, I'll go out and buy it, and if not I end up just deleting the files, or if it is "Eh, maybe watch it again one day," I'll burn them to a disc somewhere and let them collect dust for awhile.

As for hentai, yeah even less. I own Immoral Sisters, and kind of wonder why I do at that. Little harder to come by though, but no, that certainly is a half-assed excuse, but does hold true to some regard nonetheless.

Besides, just because we're all here doesn't mean we are all exclusively pirates and therefore never spend money on any material goods related to our hobbies. The idea of pirating and the idea of never spending money on goods are not inclusive of each other. Does it hold true for a lot of people? I'd go out on a limb and say it probably is true for the majority of Fakku, but that gives you nor anyone else basis to assume that is the case for everyone.

All of that is basically irrelevant anyway, I'm simply saying that you have to come with a better argument than that if you want the general populace of America to support your sentiments. I don't know if it is safe to call them the majority, but there is a vast amount of Americans who are anti-piracy and people spouting off how unfair it is to expect us to no longer be able to pirate goods isn't going to garner sympathy against SOPA in any way, shape, or form.

doctorm, you need to do a better job of arguing against SOPA. just saying "SOPA shouldn't be passed because I want to illegal download/stream" will not help prevent SOPA, in fact that's what SOPA supporters want us to say.

I like how you assume I download illegally simply because of something I mentioned THAT IS in fact true. Do anime fans buy the DVDs or manga? I'd say for 95% the answer is no, why buy when you can look at it for free? Sad but true, which is why sites like onemanga and possibly 1000 others have been taken down.
