I'm thinking that FAKKU would have become like a strictly no ENGLISH website. Perhaps all Japanese or some other language. But if ever the bill would be passed, I hope at least it will be just language change for FAKKU! not total shutdown. Since about 80-90% of what's posted here are Japanese stuff, the US can't touch it unless Japan does the same thing, altho i doubt japan will doom it's own culture.

If SOPA were to pass, many smaller but famous sites would definitely be in danger of being shutdown. I have hopes however that SOPA won't be passed as it is now; considering that the bill is up againts internet titans such as Google, Mozilla, Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook etc. and millions upon millions of dollars going towards lobbying against it. If you didn't know, the White House pronounced itself against SOPA and the Protect IP Act recently, quoting in loose paraphrasing that the bill is far too vague and would definitely have a very negative effect on e-business and commerce the world over. In most likelyhood, even if the bill were to get pass voting, I'd probably be vetoed by the president.
I doubt however that it will be the last time the internet will face such a crisis. Sometime in the coming years a similar or perhaps even stupider legislation will try to be passed, so in retrospect, this is when all netizens must unite and stand together against idiots who wish to silence and regulate anything and everything that they can't control, as cliché as it sounds.

Considering they've tried to get this bill to pass before i highly doubt it will. Also considering how much the internet is based upon supposed *piracy* if this was to pass then we as people could consider the information the government recieves as piracy. If simple stuff like what FAKKU! does would be considered as piracy, then we could easily back fire this on them as well, not to mention the internet as we know it would practially be destroyed and we would be like north korea or china with how strcit there internet is. Democracy for me ATM means good internet porn if you really think about it. And where would america be without porn? ;)

In my opinion people should chill, its not going to happen. SOPA is trying to kill what makes the government ALOT of spending money, they don't want to give that up i sure as hell wouldn't. Australia tried it and it fizzled and popped, the same will happen in the US and everywhere else it comes up.
Filtering something doesn't protect stupid people it makes them STUPIDER thats what the people pushing this bill don't seem to understand. The internet is like a gun, taking away it free speech it like taking bullets from the gun. It just makes it useless to everyone and the idiot's that we were trying to "protect" still manage to hurt themselves.
And on another note, killing the net won't stop piracy it will only piss it off and make it find a new medium. Thus entire effort = wasted. So all in all they will look at it, LAUGH and dismiss it.

I'm in total agreement. If someone tried to take away a big source of income from me, there'd be total armaggedon. Hahaha

I love Fakku, but let's be honest: this site uses the work of Japanese dojin artists to help monetize this site. Those artists receive zero compensation from Fakku.
If SOPA went international, Fakku would definitely be a target.
For Fakku to not have participated in the blackout is shameful.

I mean the world already in trouble as is. Now they wanna take away our Freedom to write whatever we want? I would say crime spree's would start. Rape's would occur more often due to most porn sites taken down. (males have no way to release pent up sexual desires) everything would be patroled as in "BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING" and people would be more on edge about how our government wants to control everything.
all in all shit would hit the fan
and y'know I honestly don't know if Fakku would be safe. some material is doujinshi, I don't know if SOPA can even touch that stuff.

if google went down for 24 shit would explode. I mean if google goes down then how are sites supposed to be found? sure you could use another search engine...but its not the same.
and like most articles I read, the white house does support internet security but does not support SOPA itself, and like the articles most partys are against it but yet its still going through debate and such.

Since about 80-90% of what's posted here are Japanese stuff, the US can't touch it unless Japan does the same thing, altho i doubt japan will doom it's own culture.the SOPA provision has a section specifically for the shutdown of foreign websites and foreign language websites that host or host links to copyrighted material. see
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2012/01/how-pipa-and-sopa-violate-white-house-principles-supporting-free-speech
for more information. basically, SOPA would take down any site that even references copyrighted material in the context of how to acquire it for free. this means that: 4CHAN, HONGFIRE, FAKKU, DANBOORU, GELBOORU, TOSHI2CHAN, MANGATRADERS, NIHONOMARU, ANIMESENSHI, ANIME-TAKE, MANGAFOX, BATOTO, AND EVERY SINGLE SCANLATING OR TRANSLATING SITE THAT CURRENTLY EXISTS would simply be wiped from existence, all to protect corporate profit margins. its not that we're stealing anything from them, oh no. after all, the definition of theft is "the taking of something without permission with the result of permanently depriving its previous owner of it". you cannot permanently steal a piece of digital data, only copy it. therefore, it is not stealing, merely "getting for free what you would pay out the ass for otherwise". So what we at Fakku!--and every other site that hosts material that other people pay for--are doing is, in fact, taking away from the PROJECTIONS of how much companies THINK they'll make. in effect, SOPA is kinda like the corporations and their lackeys saying
"waaaaahhhh, we didn't make all the money we think we have a right to earn! waaaahhhh!....wait? there's some good and honest people preventing us from making our millions of dollars so we can buy corporate jets and our gold plated toilets? KILL THEM ALL! RAPE THEIR WIVES! BURN! PILLAGE! TAKE AWAY ANYTHING THAT GIVES THEM SATISFACTION IN THIS WORLD!"

Google made it's move today, it will probably be the largest petition ever.
inb4 already a SOPA thread

I already like... signed 3 petitions and even wrote up a protest against SOPA. inb4 America riots over Congress' stupidity on passing SOPA.
Edit: I wonder if this is why the Fakku logo is blackened out. lol.

Regardless of whatever you read, Vanilla, NTR, rape hentai on this site freedom of Expression is being threatened by so called good purposes to combat internet piracy. This isn't about Americans its also about anybody here on this and in this world that lives in a democratic society. SOPA and PIPA (Senate Version of SOPA)will censor the net and without any support to combat these laws and show our opposition to these bills we are giving the government to censor the net and arrest anybody that may upload content.

I personally agree with Argonblue, this site has done nothing wrong to anyone. It has just given people a chance to hentai read it for free. That is the only real crime fakku has committed and it's not even a crime! If people are to be restricted of their info and hentai, I don't care what the government say. I'm getting my pitchfork!!!! Anyone with me?
