War on America

Me and a friend argue all the time about the military might of America. He believes that in a war that an Eastern country with the resources of a combined North and South Korea could actually conquer some parts of America, which I find hard to believe and I would like the insight of the wise people on this pornographic website to help settle the dispute. I am black and he is Asian, so it's a point of pride for both of us. He said I was prideful and that is why I believe in my countries ability to protect us, I asked him why no one has hand the balls to do it if it was so easy. He insist that they could take over if they wanted, I think he's been playing too much Homefront. His points are as follows: Eastern training is more effective than Western, the armies of Korea raped us with only halve the fighting force, they have a larger army(utter bullshit), more money(definitely horseshit), and with the other half of the country they would double the rape factor. I know this is a bullshit argument, but he's convinced himself, and he read some books, so now he thinks himself vastly more intelligent than I am. He's deluded, but he is the more articulate of us, and I'm no slouch. His voice is like a night of drinking wine, it mars your judgement without you feeling it, allows you clarity of thought, but makes you slightly more susceptible to bs. He has a silver tongue and the confidence to use it. My argument is that some of his facts are just wrong, his sources are questionable due to the fact that he can't remember the name or author, and he didn't have the books on him at the time. Also the Koreans, even combined, wouldn't have a large enough landing force to occupy America and defend their own nation[/color], in fact the very notion is benign. The war was lost due to the Koreans having a home front advantage in which they could pretend to be civilians and hide in holes and have intimate knowledge of the landscape. I hope this will warrant the attention of people who agree and disagree, even if someone has to pretend to disagree with me, so I can get the full scope of the dispute. I hope to gain a better understanding of the world, my friend, and best of all prove that I am right.

as an afterthought, do you think anyone could occupy America with actual military force? I think it's only possible in the form of gangs of some sort

For starters....

To touch the heartland of USA, you must beat it's Navy and Airforce first.

If you manage to find a eastern country with such a force and logistics capable of that.

Then, good, next problem, population of usa is like 300m.

You need a huge land army to occupy and keep lands of usa while the usa still have its army. USA lands is big. Cities here and there with empty stretches of land.

To invade usa and occupy lands is to inquire attention from Canada who will be threaten by foreign presence. Canada won't benefit from having usa being destroyed and will fuck with you in any way possible.

Canada and USA enjoy each others companies, why spoil that arrangement?

And there's the case of mexicans :)

Lots of them in southwest usa, expect them to annoy your soldiers if you go there.

Northwest usa, canadians is closer.

Southwest, druglords of mexicans. And the mexican nation xD.

To put it simply, The north and south america like the way things are, and won't take kindly to a invasion from asian or eastern country.

China or whatever hit usa.

Then you have to deal with anxious india/pakistan and many other countries etc worried about their safety. And probably will smash you in.

Australia will go hrmm, Im probably next. And conspire against you.

And you're even not mentioning the fact that Japan and USA is currently allies. Japan won't like it at all, and will likely receive permission to re-militarize to assist USA.

In regards to the above post, I'd like to point something out. Yeah, we have space, but defending that land is also a chore. We would most likely give some parts of the U.S. up to shore up defenses on more critical locations. (Capitol Hill, areas with natural resources, factory cities, the works) Your friend is probably right in that a sizable eastern force can take areas of the U.S., but whether or not they can KEEP it is probably a different matter.

You also forgot Britain...Taiwan and Israel. We kinda have friendly relations with them too. Not so sure about Mexico.

For Korea...Well, both have sizable military forces, south Korea's resource weaknesses can probably be mitigated by North Korea's. But, if we're talking current day strength...

Yeah that's a tall order for United Korea to try overcome.

Even if Korea was to united, they'll get sunk in the pacific ocean before reaching usa.

Korea simply don't have the military needed to invade usa. Not gonna happen. What's fiction is fiction.

North Korea leader is a terrible leader and he knows it South korea got better military than he does. But, he got one thing going for him, he has lots of submarines but, I doubt his submarines is of reasonable quality, honestly I don't know, north korea's repuation isn't good.

Korea don't even have a single Aircraft carrier at all, so, long ranged strikes will be dependant on Korea's ability to seize islands and turn them into airbases for its airforce.

With Satellites, navy locations will be always know, and they'll be seen coming. Defenses will be prepared accordingly.

All good points but you can't deny the possibility of America being conquered. China has the worlds largest army of 4,585,000 at their disposal. Even though that, is it possible to conquer parts of America? yes. Will it be difficult? both in occupying and maintaining control, yes.
Even though America is a big nation and is full of gun-toting patriots(I'm gonna get hated for this I bet), you cannot escape the fact that no country is invincible. I'm sure if any country tried to occupy America, they'd run into many of the issues that Callonia has stated, which make it turn into a losing cause.
And not to sound like a hater but, in my opinion, you sound quite ignorant to some degree when talking about your friends argument. . . just my opinion when I read.

Hypothetically though, if India and China joined forces then the US would get absolutely destroyed.

If the eastern country's joined hand's with Russia, I think they could deal america a serious blow but not a full take over.

Can't see any occupying force working. Most of the people in power are religious fanatics of a sort. I'm sure the nuclear option as an endgame is very appealing to them.

Nowadays conquering and occupying are extremely difficult, since the proliferation of weapons is so wide-spread, third generation warfare (blitzkrieg i.e combined arms tactics) are becoming less and less effective, with that in mind, America's and most first world armed forces are quickly changing into four generation warfare (asymmetric combat, no defined combat lines, urban operations, information warfare, etc).

It's here that we see America's greatest weakness (one they are trying to remove as we speak), most of the resources go towards supplying and arming a constabulary army (an army that's used in pacification purposes), while also keeping the expeditionary army well-equipped and supplied (overseas army), that leaves the homeland defense army with a little disadvantage.

In regards to your original question, America, China, Europe, Russia, Brazil and some other countries are extremely
-nigh impossible- hard to invade, and even harder to keep the supplies coming and going.

Remember amateurs talk about strategy, experts talk about logistics.

The issue here is how China gets its 4,585,000 soldiers to the USA and supply them for an extended campaign. Not to mention the they have to face one of the most powerful military forces in the world.
Aside from that China has nothing to gain by attacking the United States. The same goes for Korea.

India has enough problems internally until they solve those problems they won't be waging wars against a Superpower. Keep in mind that the US has support from many powerful nations so attacking the US would result in half the western world turning on you.
Even though the Indian military is relatively modern their equipment is nowhere near as good as the gear the US get to play with.
Again you also run into a logistics problem; moving all those troops and protecting them on the way is no easy task. India and China both lack any form of credible force projection ie. Aircraft Carriers.

Size and weaponry doesn't win battles, will power and determination does. If war actually comes to the homeland, troop morale would increase because now we actually have a reason to fight. And to anyone who thinks this statement is cheesy and bullshit, probably thinks we won the Vietnam War.
(Don't forget, we do have allies. Its not like we're fighting alone.)

More people need to watch red dawn. The only real allies we have are the British and the Chinese. We got redneck with guns and missile launchers, Mexican who are masters of sneaking in shit, Blacks masters of urban combats, Asians... they know math. Plus the terrain is unpassable if you don't know how to cross it. I will try to argue his case more eloquently, imagine me as him. If Korea was a combined force, their military capabilities would be superior to America's in terms of training, weapon quality, and leadership. People in Eastern countries are conscripted at a early age, so their training is basically second-nature. The training itself is more rigorous than anything the soldiers of America have to go through. American weaponry receives a low-grade 40%, and further degrade the quality of the weapon by being incompetent. I believe that one Korean could take on 3 fully armed Americans with a knife and a spoon.<(this was made in a jovial tone making me think that he was joking, but his look was serious) That's how advanced the fighting techniques of a Eastern country is compared to that of America. In the Korean war their ground tactics were better, and that's why America got practically ass raped. The leadership in Korea is more professional. Looking in an American military newspaper, there are always stories of high ranking officials sleeping with their subordinates, and other frivolous dalliances, if the leaders are trash. Well, as any martial artist knows, the head follows the body. Also the military is headed by civilians who are bound by politics to do what is perceived as humane. Korea has no such restrictions and will do whatever it takes to complete their objective, also the strict military order would ensure plans are preformed with cold, heartless military-efficiency. The Koreans would put every citizen to work in factories, in infirmaries, and other things contributing to the war front. They don't care about their people and would use them to their fullest extent. Moving on to another point, a lot of countries hate America. How many have been screwed over and mutilated by the seemly invincible world power. All in a fanatical crusade to protect the world, they would find allies that want revenge. Furthermore, a little off topic, I definitely don't hate you or anyone who expresses their opinion in a truthful and respectful way. I relish the criticism of others who are far away and have a clearer picture of me, than I do myself. It helps me improve, and my argument on my friends behave was half-hearted at best. 3)Have you ever seen how America trains their soldiers or how Korea trains their soldiers?

The United States, in general, has gone much further than any other country in experimental weapon technologies and advancements. One of the few countries that could arguably contend with the United States when it comes to weapons research would be Germany. It would certainly not being either North or South Korea.

Then again the definition of "quality" is vague and possibly subjective. Quality of what? Quality in terms of the durability of the weapon(s) in question? Quality in terms of what weapon(s) possess superior destructive power?

No one will land a nuclear strike on the US because the US is a NATO member and no one will risk a nuclear war with the US. If any country uses nuclear weapons without a just reason then they will be enemies of NATO
