Um well I'm a female so I dunno if I can really answer it but if I was the 16 year old I would keep it as I want a kid anyway but it wouldn't ruin my life I don't think LOL

If your 17, and have a kid, that is the worlds most STUPIDEST mistake you can make as a 17 year old. Having children is not a bad thing, but at that age you are still a child yourself, and you need to at the very least grow and figure out your own persona before you can tell someone else how they can personify themselves. Parents are meant to be there and give you that advice when you do not have it for yourself, or point you in a right direction, thus the heavy burden parents bare. At 17 you should be worrying about anything BUT raising a child.

Get her sister pregnant too.

Or you might give child to an adoption. Now, I'm not one of those "down with abortion" loons, but let's face it, such girl will think next time "oh well, I will just take abortion!". And the time after that. And after. And when she will actually want children, she can be barren by that time.

Back on topic:

I can ruin your life. It doesn't have to, but it usually does. Supporting a child can be a heavy expanse, and it's unlikely a 17-year old, no matter how good at school, can get a job that would yield that much money. Not to mention keeping both at school and raising child while at it.

It is possible, if you have the support of a family, but most of all - determination. If you don't want the child, then you (probably) won't be able to deal with it, no matter how well you're prepared.

wow. just...wow. the ignorance of that statement is actualy hurting my brain.

it's not like going down to the corner market. it's a major head trip for any woman to do such a thing. i've gone with women for both first and second trimester abortions. even though the first trimester ones are fairly simple and only take a few minutes, it still messes with their heads pretty badly.

i don't mean to pick on you specificly, a lot of people don't get what a big deal it really is. it's just that i've gone with three women to get it done, and was around for the psycological aftermath of two others, so i have a bit of insight on the subject.

furthermore, even adoption can be a big deal. my best friend in high school acctualy gave up a child for adoption at the age of 16. at around eight months, she began to have second thoughts about giving it up. in the end, her parents forced her hand, and then after it was over, had her institutionalised.

In retrospect it was ignorant of me. That, and I'll admit that I'm somewhat biased against abortion in the first place.

I'm sure not all women treat abortion like going to the market and are pretty shaken by it every time; but I'm also sure there are also cold hearted women like that. Just as there are child murdering mothers. But I digress.


Back on topic:

The easiest solution is to not have a kid in the first place. But teenagers these days are still pretty careless when it comes to sex, despite all these sex-ed campaigns that some governments organize.

Somehow, I don't believe it's all the fault of all those trashy teen magazines.

teenagers are now more rebellious and fucking wild. this days it actually ruin your life. it's hard to find a stable job.... Not finish in college? good luck.
